Suzhiyam / Seeyam




Seeyam / suzhiyam is one of diwali special recipe that we make every year. When i made puran poli, I reserved pooranams for making the suzhiyam and is a delicious, deep fry snacks stuffed with channa dal pooran. This is my sister favourite items, she told my mom to make it often at home when she was in holidays . It is very easy to make and we usually make suzhiyam specially on diwali day and ganesh chaturthi. We make suzhiyam easy if the pooranam is ready.


In this suzhiyam the whole channa dal and jaggery is for filling and using maida as an outer cover. It was in my list for longtime and finally got change to try them, It came out perfectly. My amma makes it so perfectly and also she used to make perfect suzhiyam while making it...

INGREDIENTS : 

FOR POORANAM :

Channa dal - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Seasame - 4 tbsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp

FOR OUTER WRAP :

All purpose flour / maida - 1 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Water - as needed
Oil - for frying

METHOD :

  • Pressure cooker channa dal upto 3 whistle, cool down and grind in blender or mash it well. keep aside.
  • Take jaggery in a heavy bottom pan. Then pour water just immerse jaggery.
  • Heat it and when jaggery dissolved completely add in cardomom powder, filter it in a metal strainer to remove impurities.
  • Take powdered channa dal and roasted seasame seeds in a pan, 
  • And then add in jaggery syrup and mix well, And make it into small balls.
  • Now the pooranam is ready to make suzhiyam.


FOR OUTER WRAP :

  • Mix maida with water and salt to idly / dosa batter constistency..
  • Make balls of jaggery stuffing.
  • Dip these balls one by one in the batter and immediately drop in hot oil.
  • Fry for a minute, remove from oil and drain excess oil in paper towel and enjoy eating...



PICTORIAL :


Take channa dal in a pressure cooker
Add water on it
Whistled it for 3
It done
strain it
Add to your blender and grain it
Mash it into coarse form
 Take jaggery in thick bottom pan
 Add some water
 Allow to dissolve
Add in cordamom powder and mix well
In a mixing pan add dal and seasame seeds
Add in strained jaggery syrup
Mix well
Make it into small balls
Now make wrap for that add maida in a bowl
Alittle bit of salt
Some water 
Make it to idly dosa consistency
Dip the balls in the batter
Now it's fully coated with batter
Add to the fry pan with hot oil
Fry for a min
Remove from the oil and drain excess oil
 Now its done
Serve..

Strawberry ice cream

Summer is already here and the heat is rising... The cool thing about this icecream is  you don't need a icecream makers to make it... And the important think is is it eggless isn't that cool... You may also make it with any fruits like mango, pineapple, grapes .... You can even add any nuts into it.....


Strawberry icecream is a flavour of ice cream made with strawberry or strawberry flavouring. It is made by blending. It is made by blending in Fresh strawberries. Use fresh, good - quality ingredients, And i love to make this during strawberry season. This treat meets the sweet, juiciness of strawberries in this frozen summer treat... To make this icecream, always select the sweeter strawberries...So try this at home. and let me know how it is.....

Preparation time : 10 mins
Serve - 2 nos.

INGREDIENTS :

Strawberry - 1 cup (7 to 8 in nos)
Cream - 2 cup (i used milky mist 25 % fat fresh cream)
Condensed milk / milkmaid - 1 can / 400 grams.

METHOD :


  • Take strawberries ia a mixer and make it into fine puree. Set aside.
  • Take cream and condensed milk in a bowl and use beater to whip, 
  • When you beat it became thick. Once it is thick, add in strawberries and fold gently.
  • Pour the mix into freezer safe container and freeze overnight...
  • Next day scoop and serve.
  • Enjoy this wounderful delicious icecream.


PICTORIAL :



Take your ingredients
Take strawberry in a blender
Make puree
Then take fresh cream
Take fresh cream in a bowl
Add in condensed milk but i use milkmaid
Use a beater whip this up, till it gets little think
You have to whip till this forms peaks
Add in pureed strawberries
Mix well
Ice cream done
Pour into container and close and let me 
Now it's done

Instant veg cheese pizza



Easy veg cheese pizza, the execelant dinner is ready in just 25 mins Enjoy this pizza with some of my favourite vegetables. Pizza Mummmm.. every on's favourite, not only kids adults too enjoy it.. I have quite a few recipe in my blog.. Iam thinking a few for you can catch them up....



Here i use instant pizza dough for this recipe and along with that i used chinese seasoning, oregano, red pepper sauce and mozarella cheese that gives yummy taste to the recipe....Most of my friends ask me to how to prepared pizza with instant base so i try this recipe for my friends...


The main thing is topping, similar to the base you need to have a good sauce for your pizza. Even though ot a instant pizza the homemade pizza crust makes it special dinner. It is much easier than any other pizza recipes, Enjoy just the way - you - like - it pizza right from your oven within 20 mins.

Often your kids odered you a pizza and you make it within 20 mins. Try this and give suprice to your family members. 

Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins
Serve - 3

INGREDIENTS : 

Instant pizza base - 3 (I used black forest pizza base)
Grated mozzarella cheese - as needed
Black olives - as needed
Butter - as needed
Capsico - as needed (red pepper sauce)

FOR TOPPING :

Onion - 1 (sliced)
Capsicum - 1 (sliced)
Tomato - 1 (sliced)
Mushroom - 15 (sliced)
Sweet corn - 1 cup (frozen)
Butter - 25 grams
Chinese seasoning - 1 spn
Oregano - as needed
Salt - as needed

METHOD :

  • Preheat the oven for 200 degree c for 10 mins.
  • Now grated the cheese first and cut the olives and tomatoes in to thin slices.Set aside.
  • In a kadai add butter allow to melts, now add in sliced onion and capsicum and toss it well, untill it became transparent.
  • Now add mushroom and sweet corn, saute it well in the butter and add in salt, chinese seasoning, oregano.
  • Saute for 5 mins untill the mushroom and corn is half cooked and set aside.
  • Now take the instant pizza base and spread red pepper sauce on it.
  • Mushroom topping on it and next spread the grated cheese and then place the sliced olives on the grated cheese.
  • Then arrange the slice tomatoes on it and again some cheese and sprinkle some red pepper sauce on it... 
  • Now place it on the preheated oven and set time for 20 mins....
  • After 20 mins take out and and divide the pizza using pizza cutter...
  • Now enjoy it hot...with some tomato sauce.

NOTES:
  1. Serve it with hot so that it will be crispy at the bottom.
  2. You may also any other topping instead of mushroom and corn.
  3. You have to done with in 20 mins because it already half baked base. 


PICTORIAL :


Take ur ingredients
Prepare all the toppings
Add butter in a pan
Add in sliced onion
A pinch of salt
Add in mushroom and corn
Sliced capsicum
A good amount of chinese seasoning
Oregano too
Take a instant pizza base
Take red pepper sauce
Spread it on the base
Then vegetable toppings
Grated cheese
Sliced tomatoes 
Some sliced olives
Again some cheese
Sprinkle some red pepper sauceon top
Now the topping is almost ready
Place it on the oven
Bake perfectly
Now it's ready
Sliced it with pizza cutter
Now its done
