Restaurant style Chilli paneer


Chilli paneer is one of the favourite recipe too. I have to admit that I was never a huge fan of paneer. But one paneer dish that I really loved was chilli paneer. I remember going to any restaurant for dinner and without fail I would order chilli paneer with some naan or fried rice or tandoori rotis...


Here is my version of making this famous indo chinese recipe at home... This is not a gravy recipe of chilli paneer but the dry version...  Paneer melt in the mouth starter flavoured with all the ethnic chinese flavours and this is really easy to prepare. Serve it as a starter or even as accompaniment for your main meal....

INGREDIENTS :

FOR THE BATTER :

Paneer - 1 cup (cut into cubes)
Cornflour - 1 tspn
Maida - 1 tspn
Rice flour - 1/2 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
Salt - as needed 
Oil - for frying

FOR SAUCE :

Butter - 1 tbspn
Onion - 1 (seperate it)
Capsicum - 1/2 (cut into cube)
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tspn
Tomato sauce - 1 tspn
Chilli sauce - 1/2 tspn
Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Spring onions - few (chopped)

METHOD :

  • Mix all the ingredients given in the "FOR THE BATTER" and mix all the flour.
  • Now add in cubed paneer and toss it with the flour and fry till golden remove to the plate..


FOR SAUCE : 

  • In a pan add in butter, ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  • Add in onions, capsicum ans saute it for a min.
  • Add in chilli powder and sauces and mix well. Cook for couple pf mins...
  • Add in fried paneer and toss.
  • Atlast add in coriander and spring onions and mix well.
  • Serve with noodles or fried rice..


PICTORIAL :


Take paneer and cut into cubes
Take maida in a bowl
Corn flour
Add in rice flour
Add in salt
Pepper powder
Mix well
Add in paneer 
Toss well in the flour
Now take it to the plate
Drop it into the heat oil one by one
Fry till light golden
Drain it in a tissue
Take your ingredients
Add butter in a pan
Add in ginger garlic paste
Add in onions
Capsicum
Some salt
Chilli powder
Chilli sauce
Some tomato sauce
Toss well along with onions
Add in fried paneer
Toss well and off the stove
Add in coriander leaves
Add in spring onion
Mix well
Transfer it into a serving plate
Serve hot

  1. Haha.. what was the motive behind this recipe ..??
    Restaurants add ginger and garlic finely chopped ratio 2:1 and they also add msg, garam masala pwd, chopped spring onions . When you cant replicate the actual taste please do not try to post such things with fancy names.
