Semiya Pulao / Vegetable Vemicelli Pulao


Semiya Pulao / Vegetable Vermicelli Pulao is a easy recipe which has a simple preparation and this is served as a yummy lunch or dinner recipe.. This can also be kept in childrens tiffin box... When ever I feel lazy to cook lunch on weekdays, simply I go through this semiya pulao or upma or sandwich...


We can add many vegetables to this pulao make it rich and delicious.. The flavour of the vegetables cooked with vermicelli, adding ginger garlic paste along with a rich flavour of lemon juice gives a divine taste to the dish...

INGREDIENTS :

Onion - 1 (chopped finely)
Carrot - 1 (chopped)
Beans - 7 nos (chopped)
Peas - 1/4 cup (I use frozon)
Green chilli - 1 (chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
Lemon juice - 1/2 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Mustard seeds - few
Urad dal - few
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tspn
Salt - as needed
Oil - 2 tbspn

TO COOK VERMICELLI :

Vermicelli / Semiya - 1 cup
Water - 2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tspn
Oil - 1 tbspn

METHOD :

  • Heat a sauce pan with water, bring to boil...
  • Now add in vermicelli and allow to boil and cook completely..
  • When they cook add in salt, oil and mix well.
  • Now drain it and keep aside for 20 mins..
  • Heat a pn with oil, add in mustard and urad dal, allow to crackle..
  • Add in cumin seeds, when they sizzle add in onion and green chillies..
  • Toss well they became transparent.. add in ginger garlic paste..
  • Saute well for 2 mins, add in all veggies..
  • Toss well allong with the onions for 2 mins..
  • Add in little amount of water, salt and allow to cook..
  • When they cook well add in cooked vermicelli and mix well.
  • Toss well till they cmbained and add in chopped coriander leaves..
  • Mix well, and add a dash of lemon juice for extra touch..
  • Mix it evenly and serve hot with raita..
  • Enjoy..


PICTORIAL :

Take all your ingredients
 Take best quality vermicelli
 Take water in a sauce pan
 Bring to boil
 Add in vermicelli 
 Give it a mix
 Allow to cook
 Add in salt
 Add in oil
When it's done
 Drain it
 Allow to cool completely, so they seperate
Heat pan with oil, add in mustrad and urad dal
Add in cumin seeds
Add in chopped onion and chilli
Toss till transparent
Add in ginger garlic paste
Give it a mix
Add in all veggies
Saute well along with onions
Add in water
Some salt
Allow to cook completely
When the evaporates
Add in cooked vermicelli
Toss well they combained
Add in chopped coriander leaves
Mix it well
Add some lemon juice
Mix it well
Transfer them to a plate
Serve hot
