Brilliant Veggie Burger

The patty for this Brilliant veggie burger is very different and you will rfealize that as soon as you take the first bite! The addition of garam masala powder, chilli powder, bread crumbs and minced ginger, green chillies added to mashed potatoes and vegetables imparts a tangy twist to the tawa cooked patty, making it a treadt to the taste buds....




The effect is futher enhanced by a special salad of shredded veggies suruced up with cheese, red pepper sauce and mustard sauce, which accompanies the crispy patties along with standard fittings like veggie slices, lettuce, and so on.. This burger is really a mega mouthful !

INGREDIENTS :


Burger bun - 8

Butter for brushing - 4 tbspn
Red bell pepper cauce  - 3 tbspn
Yogurt garlic sauce - 6 tbspn
Mustard sauce - 4 tbspn
Ice berg lettuce leaves - 4
Tomato slices - 20
Onion slices - 20
Cucumber slices - 20

FOR VEGETABLE PATTY :


Carrot - 3 (chopped)

Purple colour cabbage - 1 small (chopped)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Green peas - 50 grams
Beans - 15 (chopped)
Potatoes - 3 (boiled, peeled, and mashed)
Green chillies - 6 (finely chopped)
Ginger - a small piece (finely chopped)
Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
Garam masla powder - 2 tspn
Chilli powder - 2 tspn
Salt - to taste
Coriander and mint leaves - few  (chopped)

FOR FRYING PATTY :


Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup (for rolling)

Butter - 3 tbspn
cheddar cheese - 50 grams

METHOD :



  • First cut and ready your veggies, grated the cheese and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with butter add in chopped ginger and chillies and saute it well.
  • Then prepare your yogurt garlic sauce or mayo...



  • Now add in all veggies (carrot, beans, cabbage, peas) and fry it till it cooked.. keep aside.
  • Now Take a mixing bowl add in mashed potatoes, bread crums, coriander leaves, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and put on cooked vegetables...
  • Combain all the ingredients and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into 5 or 6 equal portion and shape the each portion into equal round flat patty.
  • Now roll each patty in the bread crums till they are evenly coated from both sides.



  • Heat a tawa, grease with some butter..
  • Cook each patty on a medium flame, using little butter.,
  • Till they turn golden brown in colour from both side.
  • Then add in grated cheese on the top the each patty and cover it with lid.
  • Keep it in very low flame and Let cheese to melted completely...
  • Keep aside the patty on the tawa itself..


HOW TO ARRANGE BURGER :



  • Cut each burger bun horizontally into two.
  • Apply butter on both side of each half of the burger bun and toast them lightly on a tawa....
  • Place the lower half of the bun on a clean, dry surface and spread i tspn of yogurt garlic sauce and spread evenly.
  • Place an onion slices, then tomato slices and some red pepper sauce and again cucumber slices.
  • Then place some fresh lettuce, mustard sauce, one patty with cheese.
  • Cover with an upper half of the bun and press it lightly.
  • Repeat steps 2 to 5 burgers.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy...

Take your ingredients
Prepare your veggies
Grated cheese
Now heat a pan with butter
Add chopped ginger and chillies
Then add all the veggies
Toss well till it cooked
Now its done 
Take mash potatoes in a bowl
Add bread crumbs
Garam masala powder
Chilli powder
Chopped coriander leaves
Salt
Then cooked veggies
Mix well
Divided and roll it into ball
Flatten all the patty
Like this
Now take some bread crumbs
Take one patty
Coated with bread crumbs
Then add some butter on a tawa
Place all the patty on the tawa
Roast it well
Now it's roasted
Place some cheese on the patty
Cover with a lid till it melts compleately
It's done keep aside

Now cut the burger bun in to half
Spread some butter
On both the buns
Roasted well 
Now it's done
Take yogurt garlic sauce
Spread it on both sides of bun
Place sliced onion
Sliced tomatoes and some red pepper sauce
Add some sliced cucumber
Then add some mustard sauce (iam forget to take pic) and some lettuce
Place the patty with melted cheese
Then place another half of bun
Now see how the cheese melted, mum mum mummmm !!!

Serve with some cucumber

Keerai Cutlet Recipe


Greens occupies an important place in our diet, an excellent way of make kids eat the greens as snack items.. You can make the preparation very very simple stir fry with a lots of goodness and yet delicious with its unique taste and your family surely loves it.. 


My kids has a greens day function in their school they ask them to prepare food with greens / keerai. so i decided to make some more different for that i search net to make keerai recipes but it not useful to me.. Then i plan to make keerai cutlet and keerai rice for them and I prepare the keerai rice by adding keerai masiyal to the cooked rice and some ghee and packed them..Then next cutlet chopped greens / keerai and add to the normal potato cutlet and deep frying them..



The taste is simply superb and my kids were enjoyed to have it... Even my daughter finished her lunch and told me mom it is really superb and i finished quickly...

So hope you try this different type of cutlet for your kids those who dont like greens / keerai...and comments about the recipe...

INGREDIENTS :

Greens / Arai keerai - 1 cup (wash and finely chopped)
Potato - 1 1/2 (boiled and mash)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Bread crumbs - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Maida - 3 tbspn
Water - for mixing 
Curry leaves - few
Salt - as needed
Oil - for frying

METHOD :

  • Heat a pan with oil add in onion and chopped greens / arai keerai and toss well for 3 mins. Keep aside..
  • In a bowl add mash potatoes, chilli powder, garam masala powder, bread crumbs, turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves and atlast add tossed greens and mix well into a dough..
  • Now roll it into a small round flattened shape cutlets and keep aside.
  • Then in a small bowl add maida and little bit of water and make a thick paste..
  • Then take bread crums in a plate, now take keerai round cutlet and dip it one by one into the maida paste.
  • Quickly take it out and coated both side with the bread crumbs.
  • Repeat the process for the rest and arrange in a plate.
  • Now deep fry it in a medium flame both sides untill crispy..
  • Enjoy hot with tomato sauce... as a snacks


PICTORIAL :


Take your ingreients
Heat a pan with oil
Add in onions
Chopped greens and toss well for 4 mins
Take a mash potatoes in a mixing bowl
Add in chilli powder
Some garam masala powder
Bread crumbs
Few curry leaves
Then salt and asafoetida
Apinch of turmeric powder
Then tossed greens
Mix well in to a dough
Roll it into cutlet shapes
Take these items
Dip the cutlets in to maida paste 
Coated both sides with bread crumbs
Like this
Heat a pan with oil for frying
Fry it till it crispy and brown in colour
Now Drain it in tissue papper
Now it's ready 
 Serve with ketchup
