Keerai Cutlet Recipe


Greens occupies an important place in our diet, an excellent way of make kids eat the greens as snack items.. You can make the preparation very very simple stir fry with a lots of goodness and yet delicious with its unique taste and your family surely loves it.. 


My kids has a greens day function in their school they ask them to prepare food with greens / keerai. so i decided to make some more different for that i search net to make keerai recipes but it not useful to me.. Then i plan to make keerai cutlet and keerai rice for them and I prepare the keerai rice by adding keerai masiyal to the cooked rice and some ghee and packed them..Then next cutlet chopped greens / keerai and add to the normal potato cutlet and deep frying them..



The taste is simply superb and my kids were enjoyed to have it... Even my daughter finished her lunch and told me mom it is really superb and i finished quickly...

So hope you try this different type of cutlet for your kids those who dont like greens / keerai...and comments about the recipe...

INGREDIENTS :

Greens / Arai keerai - 1 cup (wash and finely chopped)
Potato - 1 1/2 (boiled and mash)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Bread crumbs - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Maida - 3 tbspn
Water - for mixing 
Curry leaves - few
Salt - as needed
Oil - for frying

METHOD :

  • Heat a pan with oil add in onion and chopped greens / arai keerai and toss well for 3 mins. Keep aside..
  • In a bowl add mash potatoes, chilli powder, garam masala powder, bread crumbs, turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves and atlast add tossed greens and mix well into a dough..
  • Now roll it into a small round flattened shape cutlets and keep aside.
  • Then in a small bowl add maida and little bit of water and make a thick paste..
  • Then take bread crums in a plate, now take keerai round cutlet and dip it one by one into the maida paste.
  • Quickly take it out and coated both side with the bread crumbs.
  • Repeat the process for the rest and arrange in a plate.
  • Now deep fry it in a medium flame both sides untill crispy..
  • Enjoy hot with tomato sauce... as a snacks


PICTORIAL :


Take your ingreients
Heat a pan with oil
Add in onions
Chopped greens and toss well for 4 mins
Take a mash potatoes in a mixing bowl
Add in chilli powder
Some garam masala powder
Bread crumbs
Few curry leaves
Then salt and asafoetida
Apinch of turmeric powder
Then tossed greens
Mix well in to a dough
Roll it into cutlet shapes
Take these items
Dip the cutlets in to maida paste 
Coated both sides with bread crumbs
Like this
Heat a pan with oil for frying
Fry it till it crispy and brown in colour
Now Drain it in tissue papper
Now it's ready 
 Serve with ketchup
