Creamy Tomato Soup



Tomato soup is a soup made with tomatoes as the primary ingredient. It may be served hot or cold in a bowl, and may be made in a variety of ways. It is most popular in indian restaurants. whenever i see the menu of the most of the restaurants in india, i always get to see tomato soup along with the indo chinese soups.


A dat before i went a to our favourite restaurant, usually i dont order soup there. But this time i thought of trying their tomato soup... I ordered and enjoyed it... This made me realise that i haven't posted tomato soup recipe in my blog. so the next day itself i plan to made my soup and enjoyed it. 


Some people add cream in the tomato soup but i dont add... it must be healthy, so i dont wants to add a touch of unhealthy with the addition of cream. But i wants to use butter in my soup. Becasue it gives nice flavour to the soup. And by adding tomato ketchup which gives tangines and sweetness to the soup...

Cooking time : 20 mins
Serve - 4

INGREDIENTS :

Tomato - 4 (sliced)
Onion - 1 medium size 
Garlic cloves - 3 (chopped)
Bay leaf - 1
Corn flour - 1 tspn
Milk - 1/4 cup
Tomato ketchup - 2 tbspn
Pepper powder - to taste
Salt - to taste 
Sugar - 1 tspn
Butter - 2 tspn
Water - 3 cups

FOR CROUTONS :

Bread slices - 4
Butter - 1 tbspn

METHOD :


  • Heat butter in a cooker, add in bay leaf and garlic, saute it well for a min.
  • Add in onion and saute for another min..
  • Add in tomatoes and saute for 2 mins.
  • Add in salt, sugar and mix well. Add in water. 
  • Cover and pressure it for 2 whistle. Simmer the cooker for 5 mins and then turn off...
  • Now open the cooker, remove the bay leaf.
  • Then puree the mixture in a blender.
  • Pour the pureed soup through a sieve and sieve well
  • Mix carnflour with milk and set aside.
  • Now pour the soup in a pan, add pepper, tomato ketchup and cournflour milk. Boil once.
  • Remove and serve hot with some croutons...


FOR CROUTONS :


  • Cut the bread into small squares.
  • Heat a tawa with butter and place the bread and fry till golden on both sides.
  • Remove to a plate and set aside.. 
  • When you serve the soup, adding croutons on them and sprinkle some pepper powder ...


PICTORIAL :



Perpare your veggies
Add butter to a cooker
Bay leaf and chopped garlic
Add onions
Toss well it transparent
Now add in tomatoes
Some salt
Sugar
Add water and mix well
Pressure cooker it
At inbetween time take your bread slice
Cut it into squares
Heat a tawa
Add butter
Place the bread slice over it
Turn over
 
Fry it till golden on both sides
Take corn flour in a bowl
Now the mixture is done
Now take bayleaf out of the cooker
Let them to cool and add it into the blender
Puree it well
Now done
Now strain this whole thing in a sauce pan
Use a ladle to help it strain
This is the silky smooth soup
Pepper powder
Add in tomato ketchup gives a little kick to the soup
Pour the milk and cornflour mix into the bowl
Bring it to boil
Now its done
Now take a bowl
Pour the soup
Add the crispy bread croutons
Serve hot...
