Tawa Pulao Recipe / Indian One Pot Meals



Tawa pulao is totally new for me, I have not even heard about it untill saw in few blogs. Yet I didn't go through the recipe and had no idea about the taste. Then while chatting with my friend, she insisted few times to try and assured it comes out yummy. So i searched to know about the recipe.


And found this a famous mumbai road side dish. So i was think it for a long time how it would taste.. I image searched for tawa pulao how it is really looks in road side shops.. It looks more tempting for me.. But i wants to make it to my taste, it is a bit different. I finally made it totally for lunch and loved it and enjoyed it... 



This is best to make it for any party, because it is easy to make within 20 mins and so perfect one pot meals for lazy day when you are tired!

Preparation time : 1/2 hrs
Cooking time : 1/2 hour
Serve - 5

INGREDIENTS :

Basmati rice - 1 cup (cooked)
Bay leaf - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
Chilli powder - 1 spn
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Coconut milk - 1 1/2 cups
Coconut oil - 3 spn
Ghee - 3 spn
Coriander leaves - 1 few (chopped)
Mint leaves - 1 few (chopped)

VEGETABLES :  

Onion - 2 (sliced)
Tomato - 1 (sliced)
Capsicum - 1/2 (sliced)
Carrot - 2 (sliced)
Potato - 1 (sliced)
Beans - 7 (chopped)

METHOD :

  • First cut all veggies and keep aside. And soaked rice for 15 mins.
  • In a pan add ghee and oil aloww to heat and add in bay leaves and toss well.
  • Add in onion, and ginger garlic paste and toss well till it looks transparent..
  • Add in capsicum, cutted veggies, tomato and saute well along with onions.
  • Now add all the  all whole spices and toss well. Till raw smell is gone. 
  • Then add in soaked rice and toss along with the veggies.
  • Now add in coconut milk and give a mix..
  • And atlast add coriander leaves and mint leaves and salt, Give a mix.
  • Whistled it for 2, When it subsides open the lid and not to mix.
  • Keep it for 10 mins and fluff the rice carefully.. 
  • Now the Tawa pulao is ready

PICTORIAL :


Prepare your veggies
Take rice in a bowl
Soaked it for 15 mins
 Take a ghee and oil in a pan
 Add bay leaves
 Add onions
 Toss well till soft
 Add in ginger garlic paste
 Toss well
 Add all the veggies
 Then tomatoes
 Take all the whole spices powder in a bowl
 Add all spices powder
 Give a mix
 Add rice
 Mix well
 Now add in coconut milk
 Give a mix
 Add coriander and mint leaves
 Some salt
 Whistled it for 2
 Now it's ready
Fluff it lightly
 Serve hot
 Enjoy...
