Making popcorn from scratch can be tricky. Not only do you want as many kernels as possible to pop, But you wants to keep the kernels from burning at the bottom of the pan. Untill my mother showed me her way of cooking popcorn, I usually took easy way out to cook popcorn.....
Method of making popcorn not only pops almost every kernel, It also prevents the kernels from burning. We first learn that, allow the popcorn kernels to come to an even temperature before popping.. which results in much fewer unpopped kernels and few burnt kernels.. Serve - 3
INGREDIENTS :
Butter or Peanut oil or Coconut oil - 2 tbspn
High quality of Popcorn kernels - 1/3 cup
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt - as needed
METHOD :
- Heat a pressure cooker on medium heat.
- Add a spoon of butter allow to melts..
- Spread the kernels in even layer, so they pop at the same time.
- Now add popcorn kernels into the oil and add salt, turmeric powder...
- Cover the cooker by invert the lid...
- Wait for 2 mins, Once the poping start in earnest, gently shake the pan by moving it back and forth over the burner.
- Now remove from the heat, and remove the lid, and dump the popcorn immediately into a wide bowl.
- The hot popcorn is ready to serve...
PICTORIAL :
Heat a pan with butter
Add corn kernels along with salt and turmeric powder
When it sizzle
Close the lid invertly
Shake it well
Now remove the lid safely whether it is done
Transfer it into a bowl
Serve hot
