Homemade Bagels recipe


I am cracy about this recipe and this recipe is from friend Aarthi's recipes. She prepared this recipe and posted on fb, When i watches this recipe in her blog she made this amazing bagel recipe, Which was quite simple. I plan to bake this for a long time but  finally i baked it few weeks back, the result was really superb.


I had few in warm it's taste is totally superb, chewy and yummy... I plan to make yummy sandwich with this bagels but when i prepared it, within few mins it was gone... which was enjoyed by my family members.... And they appriciate me. Iam so happy guys....


So you have to try this homemade bangels recipe soon in your home and get wishes from your family members...

Preparation time : 20 mins
Resting time : 30 mins
Baking time : 20 mins
Makes : 4 Bagels

INGREDIENTS :

All purpose flour / maida - 2 cup
Yeast - 1 tbspn
Sugar - 1 tbspn
Salt to taste
Egg - 1 
Warm milk - 1/2 cup / 120 ml
Water - as needed
Sesame seeds or Poppy seeds to sprinkle (I choose white)

METHOD :

  • Line your baking tray with foil paper, and brush it with oil.
  • Take warm milk in a bowl, add in sugar and yeast, mix well. 
  • Let it sit till it's activates and foams up.
  • Now take a mixing bowl add in flour, salt mix them well.
  • pour the yeast milk inside the bowl and add in enough water to make soft dough. 
  • Knead the dough for5 mins till it get smooth.
  • Now roll it into log. And cut it into 4 equal portions...
  • Take a single portion of ball roll it into log. Press both ends and bring them together and pinch up and seal it...
  • Place them over the tray. Now repeated this with the remaining ball.
  • Cover everything with a damp cloth and let it rise for 30 mins...


  • Preheat the oven to 190 Degree C / 360 Degree F.
  • Now boil some water in a sauce pan. Once the water boil.
  • Drop the bagels in the boiling water and cook them for a min on both sides.
  • Remove them with a spoon and place it on the baking tray. 
  • Now crack open a egg and beat the well. Brush the bagels with beaten eggs.
  • Sprinkle some the top with sesame seeds and pop them in oven.
  • Bake them for 20 mins If your bagels has get good colour...
  • If bagels didn't get colour so poped them under grill for a min.
  • Remove them from oven and let them cool a bit.
  • Serve them warm, or freeze them for later use....


PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients
Take warm milk in a bowl
Sprinkle some yeast
Some sugar
Mix well and keep it activate
Take flour in a bowl
Add some salt and mix well
Pour the yeast mix 
Knead them into a smooth dough
If wants add some water
Just like this
Knead well 
After knead well
Roll them into a log
Cut them in equal portion
Take one ball
Roll them
Pinch both the edges
Bring them together and pinch them over
Seal the edges with your finger
Arrange them in a foil lined baking tray
Cover them and let it rise
They are rised beautifully
Bring water to boil in a sauce pan
Drop the bagels and poach for a min
Let them poach for a min on other side
Place them in a baking tray
Beat up a egg in a bowl
Brush the bagels with eggs
Sprinkle some sesame seeds
Now it's time to bake
All finely baked
Beautifull isn't it ?
Serve warm
