Lebanese pita bread recipe


Lebanese pita bread is yummy simple and popular recipe from the best part of lebanese cuisine, from this bread we make so many recipes.... It is simple to make and delicious to eat... we have served it as a appetizer, or as a dinner recipe... My son really loved this recipe and for me it is so easy to make, but can had with pretty much any thing.. 



The main thing in this bread is it has puffs up when it in direct flame and when it's cools it gets a nice pocket in which you can stuff anything in them and have as a best recipe forever.. I made this pita bread with all purpose flour which is maida and it's comes out sooo good... we may also use wheat flour too. It is so healthy and you can make a huge batch of this and place them in wax paper and freeze them... 



I make this pita bread for my another recipe chicken shawarma and i soon post that too.. keep watching it. and it is delicious. You can stuff it with some sliced veggies and drizzle some White yogurt sauce or hummus over them. It taste id devine. And you may also stuff it with Grilled chicken or Egg slices, and enjoy....

Preparatioon time : 10 mins
Resting time : 1 hour or 2 hour.
Cooking time : 1 min for cooking each pita.
Serve - 6 pita.

INGREDIENTS :

All purpose flour / Maida - 1 1/2 cup
Yeast - 3/4 tspn
Warm water - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 tspn
Salt - as needed
Oil - 1 tspn

METHOD :


  • Take yeast, sugar in a bowl and add in 3 tbspn of warm water and mix well. Leave it to activate for 5 mins.
  • Take flour in a mixing bowl add salt, oil and mix well.
  • Add in warm water and the yeast water and knead it into a soft dough.
  • Cover it with a cloth and place it in warm place.
  • Let it rise for 1 or 2 hour, Now open after 2 hour, knocked the air out, and knead it once.
  • Cut it into a equal portions and shape them into round balls..
  • Take a round, dust it with some flour and roll it into thick rounds.
  • Place the tawa let it be hot. Cook the pita for few sec till small bubbles appear on it.
  • Flip over and cook for few sec. Now flip the pita top side over direct flame till it puffs up.
  • Now remove it to plate. cut it in half, Stuff it with any filling.
  • Serve and enjoy...

 Take your ingredients
 Add yeast to a bowl
 And sugar
 And few tbspn of warm water and let it activate
Now it's done, keep aside
 Now take flour in a bowl
 Add salt
 Some oil
 Mix it
 Pour some warm water into the flour mix
 And then add yeast mix
 Knead it into a soft dough
 Cover with a towel
 Let it rise
 Punch the air out
 Knead again
 It into soft dough
 Take the dough
 Divide it into equal portions
 Shape it into round
 Take a ball
 Dust with some flour
 Roll it into round
 Place the pita bread on heat tawa
 Let small bubbles form
 Place it on direct flame like phulka
It will slowly puff up
Done
It's ready to serve
Look how it's puffs up..
