American ospoon / Custard mixed fruit jam cake Is a traditional dessert originating in the united states of kentucky and also associated with Tennessee. The cake has mixed fruit jam in the first layer and the second be cake and the third be the cookies which gives excellent taste to the dish when we eat each bite of cake.


My brother tell me to made this cake with his recipe book often when he was a young boy... He improves themself and his cakes... I made this cake for my relatives and presented to them. They we shocked to see the cake. They  preheat the cake for 1 min before sliced them and tasted the cake at their party. They had no words to explain it...



This is an easy and elegant cake is regional specialty. The cookies in the bottom usually made with custard powder which gives more crispy when we eat...The cake at the centre which made with cashew and vanilla cake crust gives awesome taste.....And the mixed fruit jam in the top of the cake gives yummy flavour to the recipe....

Baking time : 1 hour
Makes - 6 pieces of cakes

INGREDIENTS :

FOR BOTTOM :

Butter - 100 grams
Icing sugar - 50 grams
Flour - 125 grams
Custard powder - 1 tbspn

FOR MIDDLE :

Butter - 170 grams
Icing sugar - 170 grams
Eggs - 3
Cashew - 75 grams (coarse powder)
Vanilla sponge - 125 grams (coarse powdered)
Dry grapes - to decorate

FOR TOP :

Mixed fruit jam or pineapple jam - 100 grams

METHOD :

  • First brush the bottom and sides of the baking tin with some butter.
  • Preheat the oven upto 350 degree F for 15 mins..
  • Then we made the base by taking butter and icing sugar in a mixing bowl and beat them well.
  • When it became creamy consistency add in flour and custard powder and beat well.
  • Pour the mix in to the tin and smooth the base using back of spoon and make holes with fork. Base done. Keep aside

  • Then the middle layer by butter and icing sugar in a miximg bowl and beat them well.
  • Now added eggs one by one beat them till fluffy..Then add in crust if vanilla cake and cashew.
  • Mix well and the middle layer is done. Then pour the batter filling in the tin..
  • Smooth it evenly and sprinkle some dry grapes at the top of the batter.
  • Now baked it for 50 to 55 mins till it done...

  • Now allow the cake to cool completely and slowly remould the cake from the tin.
  • Place it over the plate and spread the jam at the top of the layer..
  • Now it's done slice and serve hot...

Beat well
Add in egg
Beat well and add in another egg
Add one by one
Beat them well till creamy consistency
Now add in cashews
Vanilla crust
Mix evenly
Pour the batter in to the tin 
Smooth it evenly
Throw the dry grapes
Bake it
Remove to the plate
See how it baked (perfect)
Now take fruit jam 
Pour some jam
Spread it evenly
Like this
Slice it
Serve
