Homemade Dulce De Leche / How To Make Dulce De Leche




Dulce de leche was on my mind for a very long time.. I always wanted to taste this... which meaning candy of milk or milk jelly in spanish... I s a rich and decadent sauce or syrup, similar in flavour to caramel... Unlike caramel, however which is made by heating sugar, dulce de leche is prepared by heating sweetented condensed milk...Dulce de leche is especially common in south american countries...Including Argentina and uruguay....




This process is simple but take long time.. which makes this creamy, wounderfully sweeten and silky smooth treat..And this one rock the spot... The colour of the dulce de leche is depends on the time you cook them.. But in my opinion 30 mins is perfect...

Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 30 mins
Cooling time : over night..

INGREDIENTS :

Sweetented Condensed Milk - Whole can (as many as you need)

METHOD :

  • Put whole condensed milk can sideards in a big pressure cooker, cover it completely with water 
  • And then cover it and put whistle...
  • Put it on heat and after the first whistle comes..
  • Simmer the flame and cook for 30 mins..
  • Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself..
  • Open the cooker and remove the can from the hot water..
  • Leave it to cool completely.. I left it overnight..
  • Now open and dig into it straight away or use in your recipes...
  • Once oped, transfer the mix to a air tight container and store it in fridge for many months...


PICTORIAL :


Take your condensed milk
Put it in a pressure cooker
Cover it with water
It should completely immerse the can
Cover it and pressure cook for 1 whistle 
then simmer the flame for 30 mins
Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself 
and open the cooker and remove it carefully.
Now let's it's cool completely (overnight)
Wow it's time to open
Yummy i can see the dark colour of the caramel..
 Wow soooo... yum...

Enjoy as it is 
Dulce de leche is ready
Use in your recipes..
