Fulka Roti / Soft Phulaka / Puffed Roti


Fulka Roti / Soft Puffed Roti is popular indian dish.. It is flat bread made with wheat flour and serve with bhaji, Masal, Kurma and gravy etc.. Making fulkas is no difficult and all you need is pratice.. Once the pratice is hold on it making soft fluffy fulka is easy to make.. 


Most of the indian lady's makes fulkas in their daily life as breakfast or lunch or dinner.. It is not only rich in nutrients but also rich in fibres that whole wheat brings along with it, but also low in fat and light on stomach... Traditionally fulkas are cooke don iron skillets and later part put it on direct flame makes rice and puffs... 


If you never tried this flat bread before in your home, But with experience you cake make your self and expert no time.. So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you...

Soaking Time : 15 mins

INGREDIENTS :

Whole wheat flour / Atta - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tbspn
Warm water - as needed
Salt - 1 tspn

METHOD :

  • In a large wide bowl take flour, salt, ghee and rub it with your hands..
  • Now slowly add in warm water at a time to make soft and smooth dough...
  • Set the dough, rest for 15 mins... Knead once again for 5 mins..
  • Divide the dough into equal portions into balls..
  • Flatten this balls with your hands..
  • Take a ball and dust with some flour and roll into circles..
  • Cook the dough in low flame on roti tawa...
  • Keep rolling the roti with your hand that's make the roti fry evenly..
  • When the roti fluffs up flip it over and cook for 1 min..
  • Now flip the roits on direct flame and cook them..
  • The roti fluffy up like a balloon, at that time flip it and remove them to a plate..
  • If needed brush some oil or butter over the top of the roti...
  • Continue the process for remaining dough and serve hot..
  • Enjoy... 


PICTORIAL :


Take whole wheat flour in a bowl
Add in ghee
Add in salt
Rub it with your hands
Add in warm water slowly
Rub it well
Again add some water to form a dough
Knead it well
Now it's done 
Cover it fro 15 mins
Knead it well for 5 mins
Till they became soft
Make small balls out of it
Take a ball
Dust it with some flour
Place them in a rolling board
Make them a circles
Place it on hot tawa in low flame
Keep rolling with your hands or kitchen cloth
When they puffs lightly
Flip it over
When it bubbles again
You can see in the picture
Remove them to a direct flame
Fluffs up like balloon
Looks beautiful
Flip it over
Cook till golden on both sides
Take them to a plate
Enjoy the puffed roti..
