Badam Ka Halwa / Almond Halwa


Badam Halwa is a rich and delicious indian sweet made with pureed almond... It is a simple sweets that can be prepared on any festival occasions like Diwali, Hoil, Durga Pooja and etc... This yummy halwa is made with soaking almond, then blending them with little milk.. later cooked with sugar, ghee to yield a delicious halwa...

INGREDIENTS :

Almond / Badam - 1/2 cup (heaped)
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 1 pinch
Ghee - 5 to 6 tbspn
Milk - 1/4 cup
Yellow food colour - a pinch
Saffon - a tiny pinch (for garnish)

METHOD :

  • Soak the almonds for 2 hours and peel the skin and keep it ready..
  • Then grind the almond along with milk into a fine / coarse paste, keep aside..
  • In a pan with sugar with water and allow to boil till the suagr dissolves..
  • Then add in almond paste and stir continuously to avoid lumps..
  • Once it mix well quickly added cardamom powder and yellow food colour and mix well.
  • Keep stirring in medium flame.. and add in ghee at regular intervals keep stirring..
  • At this stage the halwa is start leaving sides of the pan..
  • The bubbles appears in the sides of the pan and this is the right stage.. to switch off..
  • Transfer them to a bowl.. garnish with saffron..
  • Enjoy...


PICTORIAL :


Take your almond
Take 1/2 cup od almond
In a bowl
Soak it with water for 2 hours
Peel the skin
Add them to a blender
Add in milk
Make it a fine / coarse paste
In a bowl add 1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
Heat well till the suagr dissolves
Now this is a correct consistency
Add in pureed almond
Keep mixing
Add in cardamom powder
Add a pinch of food colour
Keep stirringto avoid lumps
Mix well, so they started thicker
Add a tbspn of ghee
Mix well
Again add another tbspn of ghee
Now it became thicker, 
and leaves the sides of the pan
Again add ghee
Keep stirring
Now it's bubbles up
This is the correct stage to switch off
Done done
Transfer them to a bowl
Serve hot or cold
Enjoy..
