Karandi Muttai / Omelette Recipe


Karandi Omelette is an egg omelette cooked in a ladle or tadka pan, which is also called as "Karandi or Thalippu Karandi"... So it is named as Karandi Omelette... This omelette will be similar to Kulli Paniyaram but little big in size and made with eggs....


This omelette is thicker, soft in the centre and crisiper outside.. It is so yummy to have it on cold days pair with rasam rice... Adding more onion make the dish tasty and delicious... So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know it's turns out from you....


Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 7 to 10 mins
Makes - 1 egg to 1 omelette

INGREDIENTS :

Egg - 2
Onion - 2 (chopped finely)
Green chilli - 1 (chopped finely)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
Salt - as needed
Oil - 2 tbspn

METHOD :

  • In a bowl, crack open the egg ina bowl and add in turmeric powder, salt and pepper powder...
  • Beat it well, add in chopped chilli and onions, mix well.
  • Take the ladle, drizzle with some oil.. When the pan gets heated..
  • Pour the prepared beaten egg and cook it in medium flame..
  • It will take 2 mins and flip it over and again cook it for 2 mins..
  • Transfer them to a plate and serve hot..
  • Enjoy...


PICTORIAL :

Take all your ingredients
Crack open the egg in a bowl
Add in turmeric, pepper, and salt
Mix it well
Add in chopped chilli
Add in chopped onions
Beat it well
I use my Tadka Pan
Pour some oil and allow to heat 
Simmer the stove and pour the eggs
Cook it medium flame for 2 mins
It is the correct stage to flip it
Done, cook it for another 2 mins
Now it's done
Again flip it and cook for 30 sec 
So that it will be crispy outside.
Transfer them to a plate
Serve hot
