Karasev / Spicy Sev / Khara Sev


Karasev / Spicy Sev is easy and scrumptious snacks for Diwali which can made in jiffy... As diwali is nearing coming soon I will post more Diwali sweet, snacks and savouries in my blog, you can visit my other sweets recipes...

Little kara sev in a bit of newspaper with a cup of hot tea is a delightful evening snacks... So I hope that you must try thie recipe and let me know it's turns out from you.....

Cooking Time : 2 to 3 mins
Makes - 2 cups

INGREDIENTS :

Gram flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan - 1 cup
Rice flour / Arisi mavu - 1/2 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tbspn
Whole pepper - 1/4 tspn
Garlic cloves - 4 to 5
Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4tspn
Salt - as needed
Water - for knead the dough
Oil - for deep frying

METHOD :


  • In a blender add chilli powder, garlic cloves, pepper to a smooth paste by adding little water..
  • Take gram flour and rice flour in a bowl and add in asafoetida and salt..
  • Now add in ground masala and mix well..
  • Add some water and make this into a smooth dough..
  • Take your desired Mould and fill it with dough..
  • Now heat a pan with oil for deep frying..
  • Directly pipe the dough into the oil.. (only two circle)
  • Fry them till crispy and remove them in a paper towel..
  • Now break them into small pieces and cool completely..
  • Store thin in a air tight container...
  • Enjoy..


PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients
Take chilli powder, garlic and pepper
Make it a smooth paste with little water
Take gram flour and rice flour in a bowl
Add in asafoetida
Add in salt
Add the ground masala and add little water
Mix it well to form a smooth dough
Now take your mould
Fill that with this mixture
Heat a pan with oil for deep frying
Press it in the oil and fry till golden
Flip it over
Drain it tissue paper
Now break them into small pieces and cool completely
Store it in air tight container
Serve
