Briyani Kathirikkai / Muslim Style Briyani Brinjal Curry

 

Muslim thalsa / Muslim briyani kathirikai is a serve along with all type of briyani in hotel and I wish to try this, so I browse more website and search but iam not fulfill with that but last year we went my hubby's friend house for last ramzan festival they share this recipe..


Which is more useful for me to post this recipe.. The briyani is not fulfill without this brinjal curry this is very yummy, mild and tasty.. When i prepared this curry at home one day, on that day itself iam not prepare briyani without this curry... Another type of briyani brinjal curry is also in my mind soon i will post that...


Ramzan is near, so i wish to post this curry for you... So i hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you..

INGREDIENTS :

Onion - 1 (sliced)
Tomato - 1 (sliced)
Green chilli - 3 (slit)
Toor dal / Thuvaram paruppu - 1/4 cup
Bengal gram / Kadalai paruppu - 3 tbspn
Onion paste - 1 tspn
Coconut paste - 1 tspn
Brinjal - 6 to 7 nos (cut them into 4 pieces)
Salt - as needed
Coconut oil - 2 tbspn
Cinnamon sticks - 2 (small sticks)

SPICES POWDERS :

Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Coriander powder - 1/2 tspn
Cumin powder - 1/4 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1/4 tspn

METHOD :

  • Heat a pressure cooker with coconut oil and add in cinnamon sticks..
  • Then add in sliced onion, chilli and toss well till transparent.
  • Now add in ginger garlic and onion paste and mix well.
  • Once it mix well add in sliced tomatoes and toss evenly..
  • Then add both dal, water, coconut paste, some salt and whistle it for 2 to 3..
  • Once it's subside open it and add in brinjal pieces and mix well.
  • Again close the lid and whistle it for 1..
  • When it's done open and add in chopped fresh coriander leaves..
  • Transfer it into a serving bowl and serve with briyani....
  • Enjoy..


PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients
Heat a pan with coconut oil and add in cinnamon sticks
Then add in chilli and sliced onion
Toss till transparent
Then add in ginger garlic and onion paste
Mix well
Then add in chopped tomatoes
Then add in bengal gram / kadalai paruppu
All the spices powder
Now give it a mix
Add in a cup of water
Add in fresh coconut paste
Add in some salt
Give a mix
Whistle for 2 to 3 nos
Now it's alomst done
Now add in chopped brinjal
Mix well
Pressure cook it for 1 whistle
Now it's done
Add some chopped coriander leaves
Transfer to a serving bowl
Enjoy..
Yummy....
