Broken Wheat Sakkarai Pongal / Wheat Rava Sweet Pongal


Healthy and delicious wheat rava with jaggery is a ramzan special post..I thought that i couldn't post any recipe with wheat rava, so i thought somthing with wheat rava and i wants to post this recipe before ramzan...  I love anythig made by rava from upma to kesari... You can also make this with plain rava (sooji).. 



This is easy and quick pongal recipe with wheat rava and jaggery as the main ingredients... Here i roasted the rava and cooked it with milk which gives a excellant and delicious taste.. It just like the normal sakkarai pongal but little change... So i hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you....

Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins

INGREDIENTS :

Wheat rava / Broken wheat - 1 cup
Milk - 1 1/4 cup
Jaggery - 3/4 cup (sweet depends on your taste)
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tspn
Cashew - 7 to 8 nos
Kishmish / Dry grapes - 5 to 7 nos
Ghee - 2 tbspn

METHOD :

  • Heat a preesure cooker with a spoon of ghee and add in wheat rava and roast for 5 mins..
  • Then add in milk and pressure cook it for 2 to 3..
  • Then open the lid and add in crushed jaggery and give it a mix
  • Keep the flame slow and mix well.
  • Once the jaggery done, add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Switch off the flame and keep aside..
  • Then heat a pan with ghee and add in cashew and kishmish and fry them till golden..
  • Add them into the prepared pongal and mix well.
  • Serve hot and enjoy....

PICTORIAL :




Take all the ingredients 
In a pressure cooker add ghee
Then add in wheat rava 
Roast well in the ghee
Now it's almost done
Add in milk
Pressure cook it for 2 to 3 whistle
When it subside, open the lid
Give a mix
Add in crushed jaggery
Mix well and keep it in low flame
Now it is almost done
Add cardamom powder and mixwell
Heat another pan with ghee
Add in cashew
Add in kishmish
Roast well till golden brown
Pour this to the prepared pongal and mix well
Transfer this to a serving bowl
Enjoy..
