Soya Chunks Manchurian / Meal Maker Manchurian


Soya Chunks Manchurian / Meal Maker Manchurian is a easy and simple semi dry recipe made with soya chunks.. It is rich in bean protein which is very healthy food that can be served as a siddish with fried rice or any mild variety rice recipe.. 


It is a indo chinese recipe and here the soya are coated with flour batter and they are shallow fried and then they are tossed in onion, capsicum, garlic and chinese sauces... So the soya chunks absorbs the flavours of aromatic and sauces brilliantly, so each mouthful is a party for your tasty buds...

INGREDIENTS :

FOR THE BATTER :

Soya chunks - 1 cup (I use small one)
Cornflour / Corn starch - 3 tbspn
All purpose flour / Maida - 2 tbspn
Pepper powder - a pinch
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Salt - 1/2 tspn
Water - for mixing
Oil - for tossing

FOR MANCHURIAN :

Oil -  2 tbspn 
Sping onion - 2 tspn (white part - chopped)
Onion - 1 (chopped finely)
Capsicum - 3 tbspn (chopped)
Garlic - 3 cloves (chopped finely)
Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Tomato sauce - 1 tspn
Soya sauce - 1 tspn
Schewan sauce - 1/2 tspn
Red chilli sauce - 1/2 tspn
Cornflour - 1 tspn (mixed with 2 tbspn of water)
Spring onion - few (Green part - chopped finely)

METHOD :

  • First soak the soya chunks in hot water for 2 hours..
  • Then drain it, and squeeze the excess water and rinse well in cold water.. keepaside.
  • In a mixing bowl take cornflour, maida, pepper powder, chilli powder and salt.
  • Add little water and make it a smooth paste..
  • Now add in prepared soya and mix well.
  • Now fry it in a pan with little oil and remove it to a plate..
  • (you can deep fry it too)
  • Mix all the sauces and keep it ready..
  • Now add little water to the corn flour and mix it well keep aside..
  • Heat another pan with some oil add in chopped white part of the spring onion, onion, capsicum, garlic and toss well.
  • Toss till it became transparent, add in chilli powder and sauces mixture and toss well.
  • Then add in fried soya chunks and mix well along with the sauce..
  • Cheack for the salt and mix well.
  • Now add in corn flour mixture and mix well.
  • Keep mixing for 30 sec and add in sping onions..
  • Toss evenly and serve hot..
  • Enjoy..


PICTORIAL :


First soak the soya chunks in boiled water for 2 hours
Now Drain it
Squeeze the excess water and rinse well in cold water
Now it's done, keep aside
Add the batter ingredients
Give it a mix
Add little water to form a smooth paste
Add in prepared soya chunks
Mix it well
Heat a non stick pan with some oil
Add in marinated soya chunks
Toss well for 3 to 5 mins
Untill the soya cooked well
Now it's almost done
Remove them to a plate and keep aside
Prepare all the ingredients
Add 2 tbspn of water to the corn flour and mix well
Now take all the sauces in a bowl
Mix it well and keep aside
Heat a pan with some oil
Add in garlic, onion and capsicum
Toss well 
Toss till transparent
 Add in sauce mixture
 Add in some chilli powder
Give it a good mix
Add in fried soya
Mix it up
Now all these are mixed well
Add in cornflour mixture
Give it a good mix and keep in low flame for 1 min
Add in chopped spring onions
 Serve hot
