Aloo Poha / Kanda Batata Poha Recipe


Onion Aloo Poha /  Kanda Batata poha is similar to the aloo poha which is most common made in indian breakfast in indian homes... This dish served as a breakfast or snacks recipe.. The healthy and perfect breakfast made with poha a flatten rice and kanda a onion and batata a potato.. Once thay are mixed together and make a delicious dish... 


Last sunday my friend gave me a some homemade poha which they agriculture in their farm, so i decided to make this famous dish.. It comes out very well and tasty... (because of the fresh homemade poha)..So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know it's turns out from you...

INGREDIENTS :

Poha / Aval / flattened rice - 2 cups
Potato - 1 large (boiled, peeled)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Ginger - 1 pieces (chopped)
Green chilli - 1 tbspn (chopped)
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi - 1 tspn 
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Lemon juice - 1 tbspn
Oil - 2 tbspn
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Channa dal / Kadalai paruppu - 1 tspn
Asafoetida / Kaya podi - a small pinch
Peanuts - 3 tbspn
Salt - as needed

METHOD :

  • Take poha in a bowl, sprinkle some water and mix well, keep aside
  • Boiled the poatatoes, peel the skin and make it a medium small pieces, keep aside..
  • Heat a pan with oil and add in peanuts and toss it for a min.
  • Then add in mustard, urad dal, channa dal and allow to sizzle..
  • Then add in chopped onion and toss lightly..
  • Now add in chopped ginger and green chilles..
  • Toss well and add in Boiled potatoes and mix along with onions..
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida and keep tossing..
  • Then add in chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
  • Cook simmer till the potatoes coated well in masalas..
  • Now add in poha and toss well.
  • Once it mix up and in chopped fresh coriander leaves..
  • Everything is heated up, switch off the flame and transfer to a plate..
  • Serve hot and enjoy...


PICTORIAL :


Take your poha in a bowl (i use homemade)
Add in water 
I just sprinkle the water because my poha is very thin in texture
Now it's in correct consistency
Keep aside..
Take all your ingredients
Take your tempering ingredients
Take your boiled potatoes and make it a small pieces
Heat a pan with oil
Add in peanuts 
Toss it lightly
Add in mustrad, urad dal and channa dal
After it sizzle and add in chopped onions
Add in chopped ginger and green chillies
Toss well, once it's done
Add in boiled potatoes
Toss along with the onions
Add in asafoetida
Add in turmeric powder
Sprinkle some chilli powder
Mix well, roast well till potatoes get golden
Add in salt
Mix well
Now add in poha
Mix it evenly
Squeeze some lemon juice
Some fresh chopped coriander leaves
Mix it evenly, till they combained
Transfer them to  aserving bowl
