Bombay Pav Bhaji


Mumbai pav bhaji is one of mumbai's hottest selling fast food and street food! I am pleased to share mumbai pav bhaji recipe. I have loveable memories of eating chats on beach with sand dunes, cool breeze, lovely sea waves, people and the chats stalls. when we at chennai beach that I use to by pav bhaji at chat stall, yummy a lots.. hmmm! am hungry again with this word chat... 



I use MTR pav bhaji that gives execallent taste, flavours from my kitchen forced my hubby like to have this pav bhaji.. It's is one of the most simplest dish. The lot of butter in ths recipe give execellant taste to the dish. Most of the poeple in mumbai also eat pav bhaji as meals during lunch or dinner. 


Here I used basic vegetables in pav bhaji, but you can use carrot, cauliflower, etc... it was super yum and mouthwatering... As without butter pav bhaji will not taste the great.. I want to finish this post quickly as I wish every one to make it in your home and enjoy them...

INGREDIENTS :

FOR BHAJI :

Potato - 3 (boiled and mash)
Peas - 1 cup (frozen)
Onion - 2 (finely chopped)
Capsicum - 1/2 (finely chopped)
Tomatoes - 3 (finely chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Pav bhaji masala - 3 tsp (MTR)
Coriander leaves - few (finely chopped)
Salt - as per taste
Butter - 2 tbsp + 2 tbspn to garnish

FOR PAV :

Pav / white bread / Buns - as needed
Butter - 2 tbsp
Onion - 1 (chopped finely) for garnishing

METHOD :

FOR BHAJI :

  • Boil potato and mash it very well. keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with butter, add onion, toss well till transparent..
  • Add in capsicum, fry along with the onion till it became transparent. 
  • Then add in chopped tomatoes, salt, ginger garlic paste and toss them till mushy.
  • Then add in mash potato and peas, stir well.
  • Now add in pav bahji masala powder and little bit of water and mix well.
  • Simmer for 6 to 8 min and mash with a ladle so that all the veggies get mix well. (till they combained)
  • Add in butter if desired, Now the bhaji is ready...
  • Transfer them to  aserving bowl and sprinkle some onions...


FOR PAV :

  • Cut the pav in to the middle like pic as shown below.
  • Heat a tawa, place a pav buns and little bit butter and rotate it with your hands.
  • When it lightly roast turn it and again roast, not to dark brown.
  • Now the pav is ready...


SERVE :
  • Plated it with roasted buns, bhaji,  some finely chopped onions, and tomato slices...
  • Spread some butter on the buns and bhaji too...
  • Now it ready to serve hot...


PICTORIAL :

Take all your ingredients
 Cook and mash the potatoes well
 In a wide pan add butter
 Add in chopped onions
 Toss till they transparent
 Add in capsicum
 Till they combained
 Add in chopped tomatoes
 Add in salt
 Add some ginger garlic paste
 Toss till they mushy
 Add in peas
 Mix well and cook it for 2 mins
 Add in mashed potatoes
 Mix well
 Add in pav bhaji masala
 Now mix it with ladle
 Till they combained and mix well
 Add in little water and mix well
 Cook it for 7 to 8 mins
Simmer the flame and cook the oil ozzes out
Now it's done, add in chopped coriander
 Transfer them to a bowl and top with some butter
 Take your pav buns
 Slice them like this
 Place it on  aheat tawa with little butter
 Rotated this with your hands
 Flip it over
 Again roll it
Now it's done
 Plated the buns and serve with chopped onions
