Nattu Kozhi Soup / Country Chicken Traditional Soup


Nattu kozhi soup is one of my village recipes.. It is healthy soup for kids and very soothing and helps get rid of cold and throat infections.. Country chicken is best when compared to boilers due to the increased health benefits.. It is for kids and people who are weak with poor immune system, this is a best supplement.. Serve it once a week to those who are easily susceptible to sickness..


It is simple to make and tastewise it is mild comparing to other soups.. In my village they usually makes curry with country chicken along with coarse paste of small onions and turmeric powder and when it's cooked completely then they take a ladleful of boiled water from the curry (transfer it in to a soup bowl and sprinkle in some pepper powder and salt) before adding spices and masala.... We liked this very much so i wants to share with you this simple soup recipe..



After taking the soup from that we make it a yummy nattu kozhi kuzhambu which have already posted in my blog...When you having the soup it is really good.. So i hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it turns out for you..

INGREDIENTS :

Country chicken / Nattu kozhi - 3/4 kg
Shallots / small onions - 20 to 25 nos
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn
Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
Cumin powder - 1/2 tspn
Pepper powder - as needed
Curry leaves - few
Salt - as needed
Gingelly oil - 2 tbspn

METHOD :

  • In a blender add small onions and make it a coarse paste..keep aside.
  • Now add oil in a kadai and then add in chicken..
  • Then add in curry leaves, turmeric powder, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste, onion paste and toss it well..
  • Along with the oil for 5 to 7 mins..
  • Now it's leaves some water at that time add in lot of water and give it a mix..
  • Now cover it with a lid and allow to cook..
  • In between give a mix and again cover it with a lid and cook completely..
  • When the chicken is cooked, take a ladle ful of soup and transfer into a bowl..
  • Now sprinkle some salt and pepper powder and serve immediately..
  • Enjoy.... (we cake make it a delicious curry after taking soup from that)

PICTORIAL :


Take your ingredients
In a blender take onion
Make a coarse paste
Heat a pan with oil
Add in country chicken
Some curry leaves
Few turmeric powder
Add in ginger garlic paste
Some cumin powder
Onion paste
Give a mix
Leave it for 5 mins
When it's mix evenly
Add lot of water 
 Allow to boil
When it's boil mix well
Cover it with lid
Now open the lid
Give it a mix
Then cover it with lid

It's smell aromatically

Now the chicken is completely cooked
 
 Water looks transparent 
Take a soup bowl
Take some soup from the boiled curry
Sprinkle some salt
Pepper powder
Now it's ready to serve
