Simple bread upma


Are you bored of bread toast and bread sandwiches, Then this south indian style bread upma is for you.. This is very tasty and delicious breakfast with a glass of fresh juice that can be made within a few mins.. It can be prepared with leftover bread also.. Even those who do not like upma will love this bread upma...


A very humble dish that you can made it in a jiffy, you can added some vegetables that is very appealing and colourful bowl of bread upma.. But i wont add any vegetables because my kids is not a big fan of upma.. they prefer other snacks using bread than this bread upma.. but i love any upmas.. Bread upma is really treat too me... 


It is a good breakfast or evening snacks with a cup of tea.. So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you...

INGREDIENTS :

Bread  - 8 to 10 slices
Onion - 2 (chopped)
Tomato - 2 (chopped)
Green chilli - 1 sliced
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Garam masla powder - 1 tspn
Mustard / Kaduku - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Butter - 1 tbspn +for toasting bread
Salt - to taste
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)

METHOD :

  • Toast your bread slice in tawa till it browned..
  • Remove it to a board and cut into small pieces..
  • Heat butter in a kadai and add mustard and urad dal seeds, let it spatter.
  • Add in onions and chillies and fry it for 2 mins
  • Now add in Tomatoes and mix well..
  • Add in chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt.
  • Add some water and cook this with lid and covered for 5 mins.
  • Till the tomatoes turns mushy..like gravy consistency..
  • Now add in chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Now add in bread pieces and mix well..
  • Cook it for 5 mins andserve immediately..


PICTORIAL :



 Take your bread
 First toast your bread
 On both sides
 Remove it to a cutting board
 Sliced and chop it up
 Now take all your ingredients
 Heat a pan with butter
 Add in mustard and urad dal
 Chopped onion and sliced chilli
 Now add in tomatoes
 Then some chilli powder
 A touch of garam masala powder
 Add in salt
 Mix well
 Add some water
 Cover and cook it for 5 mins
 Masala done
 Add in corinader leaves
 Once it mix evenly
 Add in toasted bread
 Toss it up
Transfer it into a plate
Enjoy..
