Honey Cake / Eggless Honey Cake


The honey cake is so soft, delicious and fantastic.. My hubby love it lot and he always wish to have in local bakeries.. Here the simple cake is topped with honey coconut silky syrup makes the cake super moist and juicy, when we serve the cake cold..


When I finished making this cake and my hubby tasted it, he was so happy that he could finally eat this favourite cake and it's a eggless cake version too.. Here I make this cake with my Eggless sponge cake, which I have posted already in my blog..

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 10 to 15 mins
Makes - 9 square cakes

INGREDIENTS :

Soft sponge cake - 1 (10 inch in size)
Honey - 1/2 cup
Water - 3/4 cup
Dessicated coconut - 1/4 cup
Red food colour - a pinch (optional)

METHOD :

  • First prepare your cake and allow to cool completely..
  • While cake is cooling make the honey syrup..
  • Take water, honey and coconut in a sauce pan..
  • Bring to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
  • Remove it from the heat and add in a pinch of food colour..
  • Now use a tooth pick to make it a hole over the cake..
  • Now pour the prepared syrup over the cake and chill it for a hour.
  • Slice them into equal squares..
  • Serve and enjoy..



PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients
Pour water in a sauce pan
Add in honey
It's yummy 
Add in coconut
Heat this up
Bring to boil
Simmer for 5 mins
Give it a mix and scrap the sides of the pan
Add a pinch of red colour
Mix it well
Take your cake and honey syrup
Slice the top of the cake
Use the tooth pick to put holes
Add your honey syrup over the cake
Now chill this for a hour
Slice it
Serve chilled
