Soft Sponge Dosa / Super Soft Dosa


My friend share this super soft sponge dosa, when she told me the ingredients of the dosa, I just couldn't belive it.. It just have 6 ingredients and the important thing is, this dosa didn't have urad dal in it.. I haven't try this type of dosa, so I immediately wants to give it a try..



It comes out very well and soft sponge in texture.. I don't wants to have same usual boring dosa always, When i make dosa batter first day I make idli, second day dosa, and the third day I make it a masala dosa, onion dosa, Vegetables dosa and many more..

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Resting Time : Over night
Cooking Time - 2 mins (per dosa)

INGREDIENTS :

Raw rice - 2 cups
Aval / poha - 1/4 cup
Butter milk - 4 cups / as needed
Salt - as needed
Baking Soda - 1/2 tspn
Oil - for preparing dosa

METHOD :

  • Soak rice, poha in butter milk over night, 
  • In the morning, drain it and add it to a blender and add enough water to make it a smooth paste..
  • Transfer them to a bowl and add the water..
  • The batter should be little thinner than the dosa batter..
  • Add in salt and baking soda and mix well.
  • Heat a dosa tawa and pour a ladleful of batter on it..
  • Don't need to spread it, it spread automatically.
  • Drizzle some oil over it and cover it with tight fitting lid..
  • When thye cook, you can see small holes on the top of the dosa..
  • Remove and serve hot with spicy chutney..
  • Enjoy.. 

PICTORIAL :



Take all your ingredients
Take ric ein a wide bowl
Add in poha
Add in butter milk
Give it a mix
Cover it with lid and let it rest for overnight
It will be foamed up 
Now they are well soaked
Drain it
Add them to a blender
Make it a smooth paste
Transfer them to a bowl
Adjust the consistency by adding water
Look thinner than dosa batter
Add in salt
Add in baking soda
Give it a mix 
Now it's done
Heat a dosa tawa
Pour a ladleful of batter on the tawa, don't spread it
Drizzle some oil
Cover it with lid and cook till it done
Let it seamed or cooked
Now it's ready, transfer them to a plate
Serve hot
