Anchioves 65 / Nethili 65




I love Nethili / Anchioves 65... My hubby ordered this recipe usually in restaurant.. But in hotels they prepared the fish with bones my son didn't like this fry because of the bone.. but I cleans these tiny fish and remove the bones and only fries the freshly part.. it is easier to chew and eat them not having to worry about those tiny bones... 



My son also enjoyed this fish fry... I was suprised to see this so sure all kids must like this.. But this is my opinion if you find tiny version of Anchioves you need not remove the bones and directly marinate the fish and fry them... Many famous south indian restaurants serve this nethili fish fry in a bed of fried curry leaves.. 




These fish are crisp since they are mostly deep fried.. Make sure you get fresh fish to make this recipe, marinate overnight and fry them the next time.. While serving, make sure it is nice and hot and drizzle some fresh lemon juice for an extra punch....So I hope that you must try this recipe and comments about it...



Preparation time : 10 mins
Marinating time : 1 hour

INGREDIENTS : 

Anchioves / Nethili - 1/2 kg (small fish)
Oil - for frying 

TO MARINATE :

Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Pepper powder - 1 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Red food colour - 1 pinch
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn
Corn flour - 1 tbspn
Rice flour - 1 tbspn
All purpose flour / maida - 1 tbspn
Vinegar - 1/2 tspn
Lemon - 1 
Salt - as needed

METHOD :

  • Clean the fish and remove the bone carefully.Place it on a plate
  • Take all the ingredients mentioned above in "TO MARINATE" and form thick paste..
  • Apply on the fish and let it marinate for 1 hour..
  • Heat a pan with oil when oil reaches the smoking point.
  • Drop the fish one by one an dlet it cook for 4 mins..
  • Now flip the fishes and fry it for another 4 mins..
  • Fry it till it became crispy..
  • Drain it in a tissue papaer to excess oil..
  • Now serve with sliced ring onions and lemon wedges...


PICRORIAL:

Take your ingredients
Take all flour in a mixing bowl
Add in chilli powder 
Add in pepper powder
Turmeric powder
A pinch of red colour
Ginger garlic paste
Some salt
A spoon of vinegar
Mix well to form paste
Add in fishes
Mix well if needed sprinkle some water
Squeeze some lemon juice
Now it's done to marinate
Look after marination
When it reaches the smoking point drop the fish
Let it fry for 4 mins
Flip it to fry another side
Now it done
Drain it in a tissue paper
Plated with lemon wedges
Serve hot with onion rings
