Potato puttu / Uruali kizhangu Puttu is simple and easy puttu recipe goes well with puli kuzhambu... Mostly for potato fry we need more oil.. But in this preparation, we need 2 or 3 tbspn of oil.. My mother used to prepare often this puttu for my dad because he loved it...
It is prepare with boiled and smash potatoes... so this is called as potato puttu... This is very tasty, oil less recipe and without spicy.. I have already posted more potato recipe in my blog....

Recipe cuisine - South Indian..
INGREDIENTS :
Potato - 1/2 kg
Salt - as needed
Fresh coconut - 1/2 cup (grated)
TO TEMPER :
Coconut oil - 2 tbspn
Mustrd seeds - 1/2 tspn
Urad dal - 1/2 tspn
Green chilli - 2 tbspn (chopped)
Small onions - 3 tbspn (chopped)
TO CRUSH :
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Garlic - 4 cloves
METHOD :
- Boil the potato and mash it as puttu..
- Add in some salt and fresh grated coconut and mix well.. keep aside.
- Crush garlic and cumin seeds in coarse form.. Keep aside..
- Heat a pan with coconut oil add in mustard and urad dal allow to crackle..
- Then add in chopped onions and green chillies and toss well.
- Now add in crushed garlic and cumin seeds and toss well.
- Once it toss well add in potato mixture an dmix well..
- Let leave it for 2 mins in low flame..
- Now the potato puttu is ready..
- Serve it with Puli kuzhambu..
PICTORIAL :
Take potato and boil them
Peel the skin
Smash it well
Add some salt
Add some fresh grated coconut and mix well
Heat coconut oil in a kadai add in mustrad and urad dal..
Allow to crackle
Add in chopped green chilli and onions
Now take garlic and cumin seeds
Crush it lightly
Add garlic mixture
Toss well
Add in potato mixture and toss well
Now it's done
Serve with Puli kuzhambu
