Wow... It is a jamun time... I can never stop making jamuns, they are like super cute and tasty onces for any festival occasions... Fried milk balls is soaked in sugar syrup is the ellaborate description for jamuns...Try a different version of india's famous and most loved sweet gulab jamun this diwali....
If you have milk powder at home.. you can easily prepared gulab jamun within 15 mins... Now this is no fuss jamun recipe which is made easily with milk powder.. It is so easy to make and taste just divine... I made this jamuns today morning and posting it now, so see how quick it is....
These jamuns are so soft when it is soaked up in the sugar syrup... Loved it to the core... I have one more version which is made with bread you can visit it also in my blog....You may also add in cashew or pista to the syrup it taste good...Hope you will try out and let me know how it turns out for you...
Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 15 mins
Resting time :2 hours
Makes : 10 to 15 small jamuns..

INGREDIENTS :
Milk powder - 1 cup
All purpose flour / Maida - 3 tbspn
Baking soda - a pinch
Salt - a pinch
Milk or Yogurt - 2 tbspn
Oil or ghee - for frying
Ghee - 1 tspn
FOR SYRUP :
Sugar - 1.5 cup
Water - 1.5 cup
Cardomom powder - 1 tspn
METHOD :
- In a bowl sifter, add in flour, milk powder, salt and baking soda. Sieve them together.
- Now add in ghee and milk.. Knead it into small sticky dough.
- Add more milk if needed..Let the dough rest for 10 mins..
- Now make sugar syrup and water in a sauce pan, bring to boil..
- Simmer it for 5 to 10 mins till it gets little sticky...
- Take in cardamom powder, and mix well
- Take a small portion of dough an dmake it into smooth balls..
- It should be smooth without any cracks..
- Now deep fry them in a oil on low flame..
- Now drain and drop it into a tissue paper..
- Now sieve sugar strup in a bowl and add in fried jamuns..
- It should be rest for 2 hours..
- Serve and enjoy...
PICTORIAL :
Take your ingredients
In a sieve take milk powder
With some flour
Apinch of baking soda
Sieve it well
Add in ghee
Add in milk
Knead it into soft and sticky dough
While dough is resting, make syrup....
Take sugar in a sauce pan
Pour in water
Add in cardamom powder
Bring to boil for 5 to 10 mins
Syrup done.. Set aside
Take a small portion of dough and make itinto ball
There shouldn't be any cracks in this
Heat oil or ghee for frying
Drop it into one by one
Fry them on low heat till it get golden
Give a light mix with ladle
Now it is gloden lightly
Now it's is golden
Drain them
Add then in a bowl
Sieve the sugar syrup over the fried balls
Let it rest for 2 hours
Give it a mix
See how it is fluffy
