Custard Powder halwa, a very easy sweet that you make with very little ghee and unlike other sweets and halwas this custard powder halwa doesn't have any major consistency checks... So it's very easy for beginners as well... Soon I plan to tried cornflour halwa and I post it quickly.. Keep watching.. I made this with vanilla flavour custard powder.. You may also use any flavour of custard powder...
It cames out very well as soft and delicious.. I added pista alone, you can add mixed of chopped nuts also..Custard halwa looks glossy and appealing. It is really temps everyone to eat.. You can keep the halwa for two days without refrigerating.. If you keep it in fridge it will be good for one week.. This halwa needs less effort to make....
I had half of pack of custard powder which was nearing expairy it thought to empty it.. So I brouse for the recipes with custard powder as a main ingredient and this one caught my attention.... It is very easy halwa that you can try this for New year or christmas.. So your kids surely loved this jelly type halwa...

Preparation time : 3 to 4 mins
Cooking time : 15 to 20 mins
Makes - 16 pieces

INGREDIENTS :
Custrad Powder - 1 cup (I used vanilla flavour)
Sugar - 3 cups
Water - 4 cups
Pista - 15 (chopped finely)
Ghee - 3 tbspn
METHOD :
- Take a heavy bottom pan or non - stick pan, add in custard powder, sugar and water..
- Mix well so no lumps are formed..
- Now put this on high heat and keep whisking till it is thick, glossy and jelly like consistency..
- Now put it on low flame, add a spoon of ghee and keep mixing..
- After 2 or 3 mins add another tbspn of ghee and mix well.
- Now it gets thick and non sticky.. Add in another sp[oon of ghee and keep cooking..
- At the stage the halwa will leave the sides of the pan..
- At that time add in chopped pista or cashews and mix well..
- This halwa looks non sticky, it will thick and gloosy..
- Now pour this to a ghee greased plate and set it in fridge for 1 or 2 hours..
- Once it set, invert it to a cutting board and cut it into slices..
- Serve and enjoy...
PICTORIAL :
In a non - stick pan, take custard powder
Add in sugar
Pour water slowly while mixing
Mix well so no lumps are formed
Now put this on stove and
heat it up on high flame whisking constantly..
It will get thick
Jelly like consistencyKeep mixing.. Using wooden spoon to mix
Add a spoon of ghee
Keep mixing
Add another spoon of ghee
Keep mixing
Add another tbspn of ghee.
It will start t leave the pan
Look's delicious
Now it's done
Add in pista
Mix it well..
Pour it to a greased tray..
Spread it with a spoon,Now chill for 2 hours
Now you can invert it..
Make it into slices
Serve Yum yum yummy...
