The weekend was a packed one though saturday started off on a boaring note.. Hubby suprised by taking us to a movie and that ended up for a great weekend... The movie was just ok kind but the togetherness and family times means the most to us... Yest got to meet one of my close school friend as a new mommy and had a good time chatting...

INGREDINETS :
Split yellow moong dal - 1/2 cup (boiled)
Carrot - 1 (chopped finely)
Potato - 1 (chopped finely)
Brinjal - 2 (chopped finely)
Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
Salt - as needed
Water - as needed
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
FOR MASALA :
Tomato - 1 (big sliced)
Gram flour - 1 tspn
Sambar powder - 2 tspn (i use MTR)
Fresh coconut - 2 tbspn (grated)
Coconut oil - 2 tbspn
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Dry chilli - 3
Small onion - 8 (sliced into two)
Curry leaves - few
METHOD :
- First gring the grinding items given in the list " FOR MASALA" into a smooth paste..
- In a pressure cooker cook the moong dal and add in chopped carrot, potato, brinjal...
- Allow to cook along with dal for 5 mins.. Then add in grinded paste and water...toss well.
- Now allow to boil for 10 mins in low flame till the raw smell is gone..
- Add in salt and give a mix...
- Now in another pan add in oil, mustard seeds, urad dal allow to crackle..
- Then add in sliced small onion, chilli and curry leaves and temper it for 1 mins..
- Now pour to the prepared sambar and mix well.
- Now it ready garnish with chopped coriander leaves ...
- Serve with Ven pongal or dosa..
PICTORIAL :
In a blender add in tomatoes
Fresh coocnut
Sambar powder
A spoon of gram flour
Make it a paste
Prepare your veggies
Cook moong dal first
Add in chopped veggies
Cook it for 5 mins
Now add in masala
Give a mix
Add in water
Then salt
When the raw smell leaves, simmer stove for 2 mins
In another pan
Add in mustard, urad dal
When it crackle add in dry chilli
Add in small onion
Few curry leaves
Fry till golden
Pour to the boiled sambar
Add in chopped coriander
Now it's ready
Serve hot with pongal

You can use chilli powder - 1 tspn (as per your taste), coriander powder - 1/2 tspn, cumin powder as -1/4 tspn... instead of sambar powder..
