INGREDIENTS :
Rice - 1 cup
Boiled toor dal - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Asafoetida - 1 tspn
Ghee - 1 tbspn
Coconut oil - 1 1/2 tspn
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Small onions / shallots - 4 (finely chopped)
Curry leaves - few
METHOD :
- First cook the rice and allow to cool for a 15 mins..
- Now boil the toor dal and keep aside.
- Then heat a pan with oil add in mustard seeds, urad dal allow to splutter..
- Now add in chopped shallots and curry leaves and toss well.
- Then add in asafoetida and cooked toor dal and some salt.
- Toss well along with the fried shallots.
- Then add in cooked rice and also add in a spoon of ghee and mix evenly..
- Then it is ready to serve hot..
- It is a best lunch box recipe also...
PICTORIAL :
Prepare cooked rice and dal
Heat oil in a kadai
Add in mustrd and urad dal
Allow to splutter
Add some chopped shallots
Some curry leaves
Toss well in the oil
Sprinkle some asafoedita
Boiled toor dal
Some turmeric powder
Some salt
Toss along with the fried shallots
Add in cooked rice
Aspoon of ghee
Mix evenly
Serve
Enjoy .....
