Salem pichi potta kozhi / shredded chicken fry


Salem Pichu potta chicken / shredded chicken fry / salem picti potta kozhi varuval.. as shortly called is a simple stir fry... Dish can be prepared by every one including beginners... It goes well with parotta salna, sambhar rice, rasam and curd rice... Can also have it as a evening snacks.. 


In salem (restaurant) they marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, Turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt along with some lemon juice.. And marinate for 15 mins and pressure cook it with very little amount of water.. And shred the chicken toss it with some tempering items.... But i used my left over Barbeque chicken which i have prepare in the afternoon.. 



My hubby told to make that chicken some more different and spicy ones which is sutiable side dish for parotta.. So i think it off to make this recipe which is most popular in salem, It's comes out very well and i made it for first time and it was very light to have and it was tasting very different! Here i use my leftover my Barbeque chicken but you may also use fresh chicken, marinate and cooked and shredded it and make by this process......

INGREDIENTS :

Chicken - 250 grams (shred it into long strips and remove the bones if any...)
(I used BBQ chicken you may also use any leftover chicken)

OTHER INGREDIENTS :

Onion - 2 (chopped)
Green chilli - 4 (sliced)
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tspn
Chilli powder - 1/4 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1/4 tspn
Coriander powder - 1.4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few
Mint leaves - few
Oil - 2 tbspn
Salt - 1/2 tspn

METHOD :

  • First you have to any leftover chicken and shred the chicken into long strips. Remove the bones if any..
  • Add oil in a kadai and heat it.. Then add in chopped onions, sliced chillies.
  • Toss it well till it became transparent..
  • Add in ginger garlic paste and saute well..
  • Now add in shred chicken pieces and and toss along with the onions.
  • Now add in all masala powder and mix well in low flame..
  • Till the raw smell goes and carefully add in salt because the chicken already have salt in it...
  • Then add in chopped coriander and mint leaves and toss well ..
  • Serve it with saram rice or u can stuff it the roti and have it...

PICTORIAL :


Take your ingredients
Shred the chicken into long strips
Add in onions and chilli and toss well
When onions turns transparent addin ginger garlic paste
Toss well in the oil
Now add in shred chicken pieces and mix well
Now add in masala powders
Toss well for 5 mins till raw smell is gone
Now add in coriander and mint leaves
Some salt
Toss well and keep it low flame for 3 mins
Now it is ready
Mum.. yummy....
