Easy Coconut Ladoo



Today I post my hubby's favourite sweet, usually i made this ladoo on varalakshmi pooja... This is one festival i look for, and iam glad this year pooja to go well... I prepare sakkara pongal, vadai, sundal, siru parauppu payasam, Thayir vadai, Rice and Dal... All the neivedhyam's turned out very well....and also perfect with correct sweet and salt....



After the pooja, i ended up with 2 whole coconut's, The idea of preparing the coconut ladoo's came to me... When i was carving with some sweet, I wanted to prepare commercut, but i didn't know how to, so ended up with the instant sweet bombs... Yes, they are like bombs when you have each byte of the ladoo, the juicy coconut - sugar combination wets your tougue, so isn't it better to call it as bombs...


This recipe is from my hubby's sister, she made this for diwali and gift to a bowl full of ladoo's, my hubby enjoyed it very mush so i planned to prepared this ladoo's for him during festivals.. it comes out very well and he enjoyed it... here i used fresh coconut and you may also use desiccated coconut instead of fresh coconut... we may store this coconut ladoo's for 1 week..

Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins
Makes - 15 nos...
Recipe cuisine : south indian..

INGREDIENTS :

Coconut - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tbspn
Sugar - 1 /2 cup
Water - 2 tbspn
Cardomom powder - 1 pinch

METHOD :

  • Heat a pan with a spoon of ghee and add in coconut and toast well in the ghee..
  • When the coconut became dry.. and transfer it into a plate to cool completely..
  • In the same pan add water and allow to boil and then add in sugar..
  • Mix well allow to melts completely.. and then add in cardomom powder..
  • Now add in roasted coconut and mix well.
  • Stir continuously and mix well till the mixture became thick..
  • This will be hardly take 5 - 7 mins. 
  • Transfer it into a ghee greased bowl to cool lightly.
  • Take a small portion and make them into small balls..
  • Now the coconut ladoo is ready to serve, keep them in a air tight container..



PICTORIAL : 


Take your ingredients
Heat a pan with a spoon of ghee
Add in coconut
Roast it well
Till it became dry.
Tansfer it into a bowl to cool
In the same pan add in water to boil
Add in sugar
Allow to melts completely
In this stage
Stir conutiously
Add in cardomom powder
Add in roasted coconut
Mix well
Mix evenly
Now it's became thick
Greased the bowl with ghee
Transfer the mixture into a bowl
Take a small portion in your palm
Roll it into ball shape
Now it's done
Serve
