Mint naan recipe / Pudina naan


Mint naan is a favoured naan , very fresh and healthy. Famous across indian continent and middle east... Try it with and iam sure u will love it ....This twist on the classic indian naan bread recipe is filled with mint, and milk.... roast to it's perfection.. My son is all - time tandoori favourite, now ready to make in your own kitchen, and that too using readly available ingredients!


I enjoy it in a restaurant and i wants try it at home... I always wanted a naan recipe that taste is really similar to restaurant style. The naan is full of flavoured with mint leaves and use butter to brush the pudina naan while cooking, in order to get a rich aroma and ideal texture...

Preparation time : 15 mins
Resting time : 1 hour
Cooking time : 2 mins per naan
Makes : 12 - 15 naans

INGREDIENTS :

All purpose flour / maida - 3 cup
Milk - 1.5 cup
Sugar - 1 tspn
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Fresh mint leaves - few (finely chopped)
Salt - as needed
Oil / butter - 2 tsp (for dough)
Butter - for smearing on naan

METHOD :

  • In a mixing bowl add in flour and chopped fresh mint leaves, sugar, salt, baking soda, and butter and mix well..
  • Now add in milk and knead it into a soft dough...
  • Now drizzled the 1 tsp of oil over the dough and knead it one time. 
  • Cover it with wrap paper and let it rest for 1 hour. After 1 hour again knead it and punch a little dough and roll it into circle.
  • Now use your rolling board to elongate the circle, so it forms into a traditional naan bread shape.
  • Heat a tawa ( handle tawa) Now dip your finger in water and spread water on top of the naan bread.
  • Once applied water, flip it on the tawa and show the top side over the open flame. show it on all side,
  • Now you can see some black spots on the naan.
  • Apply some butter on top of the naan.
  • Repeated this steps for remaining naans...
  • Serve hot with your favorite curry.
  • I serve with pepper mushroom masala...

PICTORIAL :

Take your ingredients
Flour in a mixing bowl
Chopped mint leaves
Sugar
Salt and baking soda
Some melted butter
Mix it evenly
Add in milk 
Make it into a soft dough 
drizzled some oil or butter on the top
After 1 hour knead it with your hands
For 5 to 7 mins
Now divided it into equal portions
Take a small ball of dough
Dust it with some flour
Roll it into naan shape
Dip your hands on water
Apply water on the top
Now it's ready to cook
Place watery side on the heated tawa
When it puffs lightly
Flip the tawa on the direct flame
You get black spot like this
Brush some butter on the top
Now it's done
Serve hot
