Mangaluru Fish Fry / Navara Meen Fry / Goldbond Goat Fish Fry


This mangaluru fish fry is a starter dish which can be served with noodles, fried rice recipe... Here my son's school they conduct food carnival there one of the stall sales this fish fry it was so yummy and delicious.. so i wants to try this and posted in my blog... Importanly as masgaloreans have a fetish for sea food as its best.. 


Here the fish is marinate with some of normal spices like chilli powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and mix along with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice which gives excallant flavour while in each bite.. I marinate for 1 hour so that the masala absorb inside the fish which is finger licking one...

Preparation time : 10 mins
Marinating time : 1 hour
Frying time : 7 to 10 mins 
Serve - 3
Recipe cuisine : Mangaluru.

INGREDIENTS :

Navara Meen / Goldbond goat - 3
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
Lemon - 1/2 
Rice flour - 2 tspn
Red food colour - 1 pinch
Salt - as needed
Oil - for frying

METHOD : 

  • Clean the fish and make slash on the fish.... Keep aside...
  • In a mixing bowl add in ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, pepper powder, lemon juice, food colour, rice flour and mix well.
  • Now add in fish, apply the paste on the fish one by one. 
  • Keep it aside for 1 hour in a refrigerator ..
  • Heat a pan with oil for deep frying.
  • When it reach the smoke stage add the fish one by one,
  • Fry it for 5 mins for each side.. Fry all the fish also in same method ...
  • Sprinkle some lemon juice or serve with sliced onions and hot with rice...


PICTORIAL :


 Take your ingredients
 Clean and make slashes on the fish
 In a mixing bowl add in ginger garlic paste
 Take all the spices
 Add in salt
 Some rice flour
 Squeeze half lemon juice
 Now it's done
 Mix well
 Add in fish
 Mix evenly and the fish cavity too
 Keep it the fridge foe 1 hour
 After 1 hour
 Time to fry...Drop fish one by one
 After 5 mins flip over
 Fry it for another 5 mins
 Now drain in a paper towel
 Serve in a banana leaf
 Enjoy...
 Mum.. yummy...
