Eddi Sambar For Appam



Cooking Time : 25 mins
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Serve : 4-5

INGREDIANTS:

Boiled Toor dal - 1cup
Onion - 1 chopped largly
Tomato - 2 (Finely chopped)
Small onions - 10 ( cut it into 2 pieces)
Green chilli - 6(Slice pieces)
Coriander leaves
Salt - as required
Turmeric - pinch
Coconut oil
Coconut - 1 cup

FOR MASALA:

Red chilli - 8
Coriander seeds - 1spn
Pepper corns - 5
Chana Dal - 1spn
Rice - 1spn
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 spn

FOR FRYING:

Coconut oil - 2spn
Mustard - 1spn
Urad dal - 1spn
Red chilli -3 (broken)
Curry leaves -  as required

METHOD:

  • Heat a kadai add masala items and fry it without oil and grain into a powder
  • In kadai add coconut oil , onion, small onion, green chilli, tomato and toss them well And keep it aside
  • In a pressure cooker boil the toor dal and add the above ingrediants which it fried
  • Add masala powder which we grained and salt as required
  • Then add turmeric powder and close the cooker whistle it for 3
  • In another kadai add coconut oil, mustard seeds, urad dal , red chilli and curry leaves fry it over
  • When the whistle is done open the cooker and pour in it
  • Now the sambar is ready add coconut and coriander leaves in it and serve hotly
  • I served it with appam

PICTORIAL:

Take masala items in kadai and fry it
In a blender add a masala item to powder
The Ingrediants
Boiled the toor dal
In a kadai add oil and veggies
Toss them well
Add to the pressure cooker
Add masala items
Add salt

Mix it well and add turmeric powder
Cover and whistle it for 3
Add oil in another kadai
Mustard and Urad dal
Add broken chilly and curry leaves
Pour it into the cooker
Now add coconut
When it became to boil add coriander leaves and off it
Serve
 Sambar with soft appam.....
