My Village Mutton Kuzhambu


My hubby's favorite dish Traditional my village mutton kuzhambu. In this kuzhambu mutton is cooked in onion, and ginger gsrlic paste. After that the mutton mixed with the masala which we prepare by gring ingredients like chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, which gives the original smell of the recipe. Finally the coconut paste gives sweetyness to the dish...

Cooking Time : 45 mins
Preparation Time : 15 mins
Serve : 4-5

INGREDIENTS:

Mutton with bone - 3/4 kg
Potato Chopped - 3(cut into squares)
Turmeric Powder - 2 spn
Gingelly oil - 5spn
Salt and water - as required

FOR GRINDING:

Small onions - 250 gms
Ginger garlic paste - 2 spn
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Red chilli - 15 , Coriander seeds - 4spn , Cumin seeds - 1spn

FOR FRYING:

Gingelly oil - 1spn
Mustared seeds - 1spn
Chopped small onions - 3
Curry leaves - as required

METHOD:

  • Grain the ginger, garlic, small onions together.
  • And now fry red chilli, coriander, cumin and grind it also.
  • And third one is, grind the coconut into a fine paste.
  • After grinding these all thinks, lets we start cooking In a pressure cooker add mutton and onion paste, turmeric powder , some some water and whistle it for 4.
  • Open it after 5 mins. The mutton is cooked well
  • Add potatoes and add chilli masala , coconut paste together into the cooker mix it well
  • Add some water and keep it aside to boil
  • In another kadai fried the frying items and pour it into the cooker.
  • Mix it well and again whistle it for 2
  • Now the mutton gravy is done
  • Serve it now.

Fried item in a kadai 
Fried lightly 
Pour in to the blender 
Blended it into fine paste 
Coconut 
Coconut into blender
In the blender add ginger and garlic 
Small onions into fine paste 
In the pressure cooker add chopped muttons 
Onion paste 
Some water 
And turmeric powder 
Mix everything 
Grinded coconut 
Open the cooker after whistled 
Now add potatoes 
Add masala 
Now salt 
Pour oil into the another kadai 
Put mustard seeds 
Chopped small onions and curry leaves together to fry 
Fry till brown 
Add some chilli paste on it 
For viewing colorish 
Mix it 
When it became to boil whistle it for 2
Now the mutton kuzhambu is ready 
Serve 
It matches for boiled raw rice

The amazing mutton kuzhambu is ready now. So you just prepare at your home. Most of the village peoples are prepare the mutton kuzhambu  like this. But one conditions you are suppose to use the instant powder masala for preparing this curry, you will not get the original taste of it..
