Ragi Poornam Kolkattai






Cooking Time : 15 mins
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Item : Sweet

INGREDIANTS:

FOR DOUGH:

Ragi flour - 1 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 spn
Oil - 1 spn
Warm water - as required

FOR FILLING:

Coconut - 1 cup
Black sesame seed - 1/4 cup
Green cardamom (elakai) Powder - 1/2 tspn
Sugar - 1/2 cup

METHOD:

  • In a bowl take ragi flour , salt, oil, and sprinkled some warm water to make a soft dough
  • Left the dough for 10 mins and keep aside
  • In another bowl add coconut, black sesmame, cardamom powder, sugar mix it with a spoon 
  • Take a small portion of dough  roll it like a ball and roll it into small circle then fill the pornam mixture into the circle 
  • Cover it and roll that like a ball
  • Each and every ball have done like above steps.
  • Now the pornam ball is ready to boil by using idly kadai
  • Cover it for 7 mins
  • Now the Ragi poornam kolkattai is ready
  • Serve this 
PICTORIALS:


In a bowl take ragi flour
Add some amount of salt
Sprinkled some oil
Add warm water
Make a dough
In another bowl take cocnut
Add Cardamom Powder
Add sugar
Add sesame seed
Mix it well
Roll it portion of dough
And shape it like a circle which you rolled
Add pornam inside that
Again roll that like a ball
Repeated steps follow by making all balls
Arranged in idly kadai
Cover it now
Serve
Now you can see how it boiled


Now the Ragi poornam kolkattai is ready. Especially the chidrens are mostly like this... As well as it is healthy snacks of our body.. We have to add ragi in our diet atleast once a week. And sesame smell is very awesome to eat.. It is very easy to prepare and it use to evening snacks for our children.
