How To Boiled Toor Dal For Sambar



Sambar is a lentil stew popular in the cooking of southern india.. It is generally composed of yellow lentils (toor dal) simmered with tamarind flavour water and a special blend with sambar masala... Sambar is especially popular recipe in south india they prepare tiffin sambar and served with idli, dosa and vada and also for lunch recipe too...


The boiled toor dal is ready now we ready to make sambar dishes with the boiled toor dal. I prepare it like this so that the colour and the smell of the sambar is too good. Shambhavi love to have steamed white rice with little salt and a spoonful of ghee for her lunch box with lady's finger poriyal..

INGREDIENTS: 

Toor dal - 150 gms

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Asafoetida - 1/2 tspn
Shallots / Small onion - 6 nos (sliced)
Water - 2 cups

METHOD :



  • Wash toor dal with water...
  • In a pressure cooker add toor dal, turmeric powder, asafoetida, small onion...
  • Add some water on it and whistled it for 3...
  • Then simmer for 5 mins..
  • Now the boiled toor dal is ready to prepare sambar.

PICTORIAL :



 Take your ingredients
 Add toor dal to a preesure cooker
 Wash well with water 
  Add in turmeric powder
 Add in asafoetida
 Add in small onion..
 Add in water
 Close it with lid and whistled it for 3
 Now it's done
 Perfect for sambar
