Wheat Puttu Using Wheat Flour



The tasty and soft wheat puttu is ready to eat. Most of them make rice puttu but I tried some more different to make this recipe so I choose wheat flour. It is good for diabetes people to have and also puttu is the kerala's traditional break fast items. So try this different type of puttu at your home and let me tell how it is...


Preparation time : 5 mins
Steam time : 7 to 8 mins
Serve - 3 to 4

INGREDIENT :

Wheat flour - 1 cup
Salt - as needed
Coconut oil - 2 spn
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Warm water - as needed

METHOD :

  • In a bowl add wheat flour, salt, coconut, and sprinkled some water little by little and mix gentle till the powder becomes moist/wet.
  • And keep aside the puttu mix for 10 mins.
  • Then take puttu mix, coconut, and puttu mould to make it.
  • Add 1 tbsp of coconut as the first layer, add some puttu mix as the second layer, then the 1 tbsp coconut as the third layer, now the puttu mix at the fourth layer, atlast the coconut as the fifth layer.
  • Make sure that the mould is not tightly packed, cover the mould with the lid.
  • Steam it on medium flame for around 6 to 8 mins.
  • Now the wheat puttu is ready to serve.
  • I serve it with siru payaru.

1st layer is coconut
Then add puttu mix
And the coconut
Then add puttu mix
Then add coconut
Close it with lid
Steam it
Now it's ready to serve
