Jeera Rice


Cooking Time : 15 mins
Preparation Time : 5 mins
Serve : 4 -5

INGREDIENTS:

Basmathi Rice - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Green Chilli - 4 (chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 spn
Shahi jeera - 1 spn
Sombu - 1 spn
Cinnamon - 2 sticks
Salt - As per need
Coconut oil - 2 spn
Ghee - 2 spn
Bay leave - 2
Coriander leaves
Water - 1 1/2 cup

METHOD:

  • In a pressure cooker add ghee and oil to it when it heat add cinnamon, bay leaf, sombu,  Shahi jeera and mix them well.
  • Add onion to the pan  and chopped chilli, ginger garlic paste toss them well.
  • In a bowl take basmathi rice clean it and strained it.
  • Add it to the cooker and mix it in the ghee.
  • Now add water , salt , Coriander leaves , close the cooker and whistle it for 3 .
  • Open it, now mix them evenly and then transfer to the plate.
  • And serve it with egg recipe.
  • I serve it with quick boiled egg stir fry.
  • Click quick boiled egg stir fry to view.
PICTORIAL :


Take your ingredients
Add ghee and oil
Now cinnamon
Then Sombu
Add Shahi jeera
Then Bay leaf
Chopped Green chilli

Chopped onion
Toss well
Ginger garlic paste
Mix well till brown
Basmathi rice in a bowl  add water and clean it
Drain it 
Add to the cooker
Add salt and mix well
Pour water
Coriander leaves
Bring it into boil
Whistle it for 3
Rice is done
Fluffed it up
Serve 
Jeera rice is my all time favourite dish to make. I make it quite often to serve it with chicken curries
and egg , but i serve it with quick boiled egg stir fry. So enjoyed it. Tell me how its turn out for you.....
