My son loves homemade podi for hot idlis and dosa, so I dont leave the podi jar to empty. Amma makes idli podi using black urad dal with skin and mix with gingelly oil make the smell awesome while having, So I prepared this podi like my mom's taste.. so try this recipe to your family, sure they loved it...

INGREDIENTS
Red chilli - 20 nos
Seasame seeds - 1/2 cup
Split urad dal - 1/2 cup
Asafoetida - 1 tspn
Garlic - 8 cloves
Tamarind - 1 lemon size
Curry leaves - as needed
Salt - as needed
Gingelly oil - 5 tspn
METHOD :

METHOD :
- In a kadai add oil, chilli, urad dal, seasame and fried it over.
- Let them to cool, now add fried thinks in to the blender.
- And also add tamarind, Asafoetida,salt and grind it
- When it's half grained, now add garlic to the blender..
- Noted that you must add the garlic atlast(So that i must me flavour ful)
- And grind it again now the ellu idly podi is ready to serve.
PICTORIAL:
In a kadai add oil
Splited urad dal
Then seasame seeds
Red chilli
Then curry leaves
Fry it over
Like this
Then add all this items into a blender
Add asafoetida
Salt
Some tamarind
And grind it
When it half grinded
Add garlic to that
Once pulse it
Like this consistency
Now the ellu idly podi ready
Store it in a air tight container
Best use for one week
Add gingelly oil to your taste
