Hai friends, this is a simple breakfast recipe named poori masala made with boiled potatoes.. It is a stable dish in all hotel in South India and they serve with soft fluffy pooris.. So it is more useful for the viewers those who wants to learn some basic south indian breakfast recipes...
Most of the people make a lot of variations to make this masala, according to their taste.. Here I make it little dry version but you can make as per your wish (by adding water).. Saravana Bhavan poori is one of my most favorite, love to have it...

INGREDIENTS :
Oil - 3 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Ginger (fine chopped) -1 spn
Boiled potato - 4 (mashed)
Onions - 2 (chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Green chilies - 5 (chopped)
Tarmaric powder - 1 tspn
Gram flour / Kadalai maavu- 1spn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Ginger (fine chopped) -1 spn
Boiled potato - 4 (mashed)
Onions - 2 (chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Green chilies - 5 (chopped)
Tarmaric powder - 1 tspn
Gram flour / Kadalai maavu- 1spn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Method:
- First boiled the potatoes and peel the skin and mashed the potatoes.. keep aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard seeds,urad dal and allow to crackle.
- Add onions and green chillies toss it till it became transparent..
- Add ginger, salt, tumaric powder one by one, toss well.
- Now add mashed potatoes and give it a mix...
- Atlast add gram flour to the kadai (If required).
- Mix it well, now add some water as you required, boil it for 4 mins..
- Till it became thick, check the salt..
- Its done, then chopped coriander leaves..
- Superb.. potato masala is ready, it best match for your puffs poori
- Click soft poori to view.
PICTORIAL :
Take your ingredients
Heat a pan with oil
Add in mustard and urad dal allow to spluter
Then add in onions and chillies
Toss well till transparent
Now add in mash potatoes
Little bit of turmeric powder
Some salt
Add some water and gram flour
(I forget to take photo)
Give a mix
Add in coriander leaves and mix well
Now it's ready to serve with poori
Serve hot
