Capsicum Peas Pulao


Capsicum peas pulao is a delicious north indian recipe served as a main coarse. Today I have no vegetables in my fridge only peas and capsicum. so I plan to make a idea of perfect comfort food? The first thing that comes to my mind is, some variety rice so I prepared this with pulao.. 


It comes out pretty well and the result was so amazing... I serve this capsicum peas pulao with chattinadu egg masala, french fries and it is a best combination.. And I can assure you, will be purely tongue - ticking lunch.

INGREDIENTS :

Seeraga samba rice - 1 cup
Ghee - 5 tspn
Onion - 2 (sliced)
Tomato - 2 (sliced)
Capsicum - 1 (cut into squares)
Green peas - 1 cup (fresh)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 2 sticks
Cloves - 4
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Mint leaves - few (chopped)
Salt - to taste
Water - 1 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup

TO GRIND :

Green chillies - 3 nos
Shallots - 7 nos
Mint and coriander leaves - few

METHOD :

  • Grind the grinding items mentioned in the ingredients "TO GRIND" into fine paste and keep it aside.
  • Wash and soak the rice for 15 mins. and keep aside. 
  • In a pressure cooker add ghee, cinnamon, cloves, sliced onion and toss for a min.
  • Add in capsicum, a spoon of ginger garlic paste, and fresh green peas, and toss well for a mins.
  • Add in grinded masala, salt, soaked rice and now add tomatoes. and mix evenly.
  • Then add water, milk and mint leaves mix it, close it and whistled it for 3.
  • After it subside open the lid and fluff it lightly.
  • Then serve hot with chettinad egg gravy.
  • Click chettinad egg gravy to view.

Grinding items
Grind it into paste
Now your ingredients
Add ghee to your cooker
Add cinnamon and cloves
Add in sliced onion
Then capsicum
Ginger garlic paste
Fresh green peas
And toss it for a min
Add in grinded masala
Then add soaked rice 
Add in tomatoes
Add in water 
Add in milk
Mix evenly
Add in salt
Add in chopped mint leaves
Whistled it for 3
After whistled open it
Fluff it lightly
Now it's ready
Serve hot
