Amaranath / Keerai is a famous greens mostly used in Indian cooking especially South Indian. We have to use greens once a week because it is very healthy and rich in iron, vitamins.. Most of the villagers planned this greens in their back of their house garden.. so that they get fresh greens all the time and they prepare the dish often at homes. So try this healthy dish for your family......... to be healthy.

INGREDIENTS :
Thandu keerai / amaranath / spinach - 1 bunch
Onion - 1/2 cup
Coconut oil - 1 tspn
Mustard - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tspn
Coconut - 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Water - 50 ml
FOR GRINDING :
Red chilli - 5 nos
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tspn
Garlic - 1 clove
METHOD :
- Pick the leaves and stem, chopped it very finely and clean the greens in large amount of water multiple times to remove all the dirt and sand. set aside.
- Grind the grinding items into coarse powder. (don't add water)
- Heat oil in a wok. Add mustard, urad dal, and let it splutter.
- Now add chopped onion and toss it well in the oil.
- Add chopped greens and salt along with that add little amount of water and cover it with lid and cook it for 7 mins. Untill the greens are half cooked.
- Now add grinded masala and toss them well. Untill the raw smell is gone.
- When it's done add shredded coconut and mix well.
- Now the Thandu keerai porial is ready to serve.

Take all your ingredients
Chopped the greens
Wash it well
kept it aside
Grinded items in a blender to grind
Into coarse form
Add oil, mustard, urad dal allow to splutter
Add onions and toss it well
Add chopped greens
Add little amount of water
Add in salt
Cover it and cook for 7 mins
Now the greens are half cooked
Add in grinded masala
Toss well untill the raw smell is gone
Add in coconut
Add mix well
Now it's ready to serve
