Pavakkai Thokku


Hai... already I post another classic indian recipe served it as a side dish with bitter gourd, simpily superb and usually bitter gourd cannot taste good in any combination. But this humble blood purifer has great ability to lower blood glucose in diabetics. so just cook it the right way and you have a healthy, nutrient filled recipe that will work best for your plate.....

INGREDIENTS :

Bitter gourd / Pavakkai - 3 (cutted into strips)
Onion - 2 (finely chopped)
Tomatoes - 2(finely chopped)
Chilli powder - 2 spn
Salt - as needed
Curry leaves - as needed
Oil for frying

METHOD :

  • Take the bitter gourd which have been cut and wash. and keep aside.
  • Puy the pan on the stove. Aftter the pan gets heated, add oil to fry the bitter gourd.
  • Deep fry till the colour changes to light brown.
  • Place them aside, Now in same oil add chopped onions, and toss them.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and toss well untill it became mushy.
  • Then add salt and chilli powder and toss well
  • Now add in fried bitter gourd to it. and fry it for 5 mins in low flame.
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves.....

PICTORIAL :

Bitter gourd cutted into strips
Fry them in oil
Fry till the colour changes
Now ur ingredients
In same oil fry chopped onions  
Fry till it becane transperant
Now add in chopped tomatoes
Untill it mushy
Now add salt
Chilli powder, 
Add the fried bitter gourd to it...
Toss well
It's ready 
Serve
