Idiyappam / White String Hoppers


Hai guys... Hope everyone had a great weekend.. I was enjoying weekend with my ma hubby in my mother's home... We cooked with my sister, had a nice ghat and lot of fun.. These idiyappam is made with idiyappam flour you can made with rice flour too...


Adding coconut oil in the dough gives awesome smell while having.. I really loved it with sugar but somebody used some jeggery instead of sugar.. This is one recipe from my mum.. I took this picture duing one of my visit to her place.. She is an expert in making this.. 


So i wants to share this recipe with you all so badly because it taste is so divine... So hope that you must try this simple break fast recipe at home and let meknow how it's turns out from you.......

Preparation time : 15 mins
Cooking time : 5 to 7 mins
Serve - 5

INGREDIENTS :

Idiyappam flour/ Rice flour - 2 cup 
Warm water - 2 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Coconut oil - 1 tbspn (best flavour)
Scrapped fresh coconut - 1 cup

METHOD :

  • In a pan add idiyappam flour, salt, oil and add in warm water mix it nicely with a spoon.
  • knead together untill you get a smooth and soft dough.
  • And with your hands make it into equal portions to fit into the presser.
  • Use omapodi achhu for this.
  • Grease an idli plate and press medium sized circle on it.
  • Steam this for 5 to 7 mins. after a min take it out from the idli plate and transfer into a plate.
  • Repeat this process for the rest of the dough.
  • Now you are going to have it with coconut and sugar and mix well.


PICTORIAL :


Take your ingredients
Add flour in a pan
Add in coconut oil
Then salt
Sprinkled some warm water 
Again some water
Make a soft dough
Now take a presser with omapodi achhu
Fill the press with dough
Grease an idli plate and 
press medium sized circle on it
Steam it for 5 to 7 mins
Now it's done
Serve it with coconut and sugar
