Curd rice recipe is simple and easy to make but there are people who really have no idea about how to make curd rice/ Thayir sadam or some of you want to know more precisely... And for this summer, we all want to beat the heat, so thought of posting curd rice virtually for you all.... As i have seen myself, many guys like to end their meals with curd rice...
Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins
Serve - 2 to 3
INGREDIENTS :
Raw rice - 1 cup
Yogurt - 2 cup
Split bengal gram - 1 tspn
Green chillies - 3 (chopped)
Ginger - (chopped)
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Water - as needed
FOR TEMPER:
Mustard - 1 spn
Urad dal - 1 spn
Curry leaves - few
Bengal gram - 1/2 tspn
Oil - 11/2 tsp
METHOD :
- Cook the raw rice with less amount of water in one stove.
- In another stove add oil in a kadai and then add in mustard, urad dal, bengal gram, asafoetida, and curry leaves and toss it for a min.
- Now add chilli, ginger, toss it well.
- Now the rice is cooked and mushy the rice with a ladle and add tempered items on it.
- And mix well, then off the stove.
- In another bowl add yogurt and beat it well untill it became creamy.
- Pour it into the rice and add salt and mix well.
- Now the tasty curd rice is ready and you may also use chopped raw mango on it (optional).
PICTORIAL:
Take your ingredients
Cook the raw rice with less amount of water
Bring to boil
In another stove add oil, mustard, urad dal to a kadai
Add in bengal gram
Add in asafoetida
Curry leaves
Chopped chilli
Chopped ginger
Toss them well in the oil
Rice is done and mushy it with ladle
Pour temper items into the rice and kept aside
In a bowl add thick yogurt and beat well
Now pour to the rice mixture
Add in salt
Mix evenly
Now it's ready
Serve
