Onion Tomato kara chutney





I have made this chutney for so many times than i can imagine. It's one of my family's all time favorite, even today morning i made this. But i realised that i haven't posted it yet in my blog. So i wants to post this chutney, today...  If you try it once, i am sure you would keep on making it again and again......

Cooking time : 15 mins
Serve - 4 to 5

INGREDIENTS :

Oil - 2 tbsp
Dry chilli - 5 to 6 nos
Garlic - 4 cloves
Tomatoes - 3 large (chopped)
Shallots / Small onions - 12 nos
Chilli powder - 1 spn
Salt - as needed

FOR TEMPERING :

Oil - 2 spn
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Onions - 2 (finely chopped)
Curry leaves as needed

METHOD :

  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry dry chilli, garlic till golden, remove to a plate. 
  • In the same oil add shallots, chopped tomatoes, salt and cook till it turn completely mushy.
  • Now take garlic, chilli, tomatoes, shallots, in a blender and make into a smooth paste. Add water if needed and keep aside.
  • Now make tempering by heat oil in a kadai.
  • Add mustard, chopped onions, curry leaves, salt and fry it for 2 sec.
  • Add chilli powder to that and pour grind masala to that, and toss it for a min.
  • Now onion tomato kara chutney.
  • Serve this with idli or dosa....
  • Enjoy..

PICTORIAL :


Take your all ingredients
Pour in oil
Add garlic
Add in whole dry red chillies and fry till golden
Remove to a plate
Cut the tomatoes in to small piece
Add in shallots and chopped tomatoes
Add in salt 
Cook till they mushy
In a blender add in garlic and chillies
Add in tomatoes and blend them up
Add oil in another kadai
Add in mustard
Then chopped onions
Curry leaves
Sprinkle some salt 
Fry them till it transperant
Add in chilli powder
Pour the blended chutney to it..
Some water 
Leave it for 2 mins
It's ready
Serve
