Coconut Milk Korma


Coconut milk korma is based on the coconut and potatoes. It is an kerala dish and most of you may not have tasted this particular recipe because this is not popular at the restaurants. Coconut eaten in morderation are very good for you. This curry is from southern part of india. That is where i hail from and this region has one of the healthiest and traditional vegetarian cuisines in the whole world. so try this curry at home ......

Cooking time : 20 mins
Preparation time : 10 mins
Serve - 3 to 4

Ingredients:

Coconut oil - 3 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Ginger -1 spn (fine chopped)
Coconut milk - 300 ml ( thick)
Boiled potato - 4 (mashed)
Onions -2 (chopped)
Tomato -1(chopped)
Green chilies -5 (chopped)
Tarmaric powder - 1 tspn
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Gram flour - 1spn
Coriyander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
Water - as needed

Method:

  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard seeds, alloe to crackle.
  • Add in chopped onions and green chillies and toss them.
  • Add in  ginger, tomato, salt, tumaric powder, one by one
  • Now add mashed potatoes and atlast add gram flour, chilli powder to the kadai
  • Mix it well, now add some water as you required, allow to boil till the raw smell is gone. 
  • Now add in chopped coriyander leaves and coconut milk 
  • No need to boil but flame must be in low for 3 min and off the stove.
  • Now coconut milk korma is ready to serve with appam. 
  • Click appam batter to view.

Take your ingredients
In a kadai add oil
Add mustard seeds and to crackle
Add in chopped onions, chillies
Chopped tomatoes
Then salt
Turmeric
Mash potatoes
Toss well
Now add in gram flour
Chilli powder
Then add some water
Toss well
Add in coriander leaves
Pour coconut milk to that
Leave it for 3 mins but it should not boil
Now it's ready
Serve
Best with appam
